My mother avoided statins for many years, contrary to her doctor’s and my dad’s advice.
Dad passed away, and she longer had him to refer to medical advice.
She did not discuss this with me. I had no idea what was going on until later.

I later found out that that she had been taking simvistatin for 13 months
prior to her passing from a massive cluster of heart attacks (Myocardial infarction).

So did the simvistatin delay the inevitable, or cause it?
I don’t know.

She was 82 when this transpired. She had no prior history of heart problems.

I would think that at 82 statins would be of little or no value. Co-morbidities would be a more logical assumption................
