The Chicago White Sox’s minor league team The Birmingham Barons are in the playoffs for the Southern League. Maybe they will have a good team coming up in the next few years.

Very special case for the Cleveland Spiders: In 1899, owners Frank and Stanley Robison purchased a second team – the bankrupt St. Louis NL franchise – and sent all of the Spiders' top talent to that club, including future Hall-of-Famers (Cy) Young, (Jesse) Burkett, and Bobby Wallace. The resulting Spiders roster finished the 1899 season 20–134, a record which remains the worst for a single season in major league history. The Spiders were subsequently one of four teams contracted by the National League that year. Partly in response to the Robison brothers' actions – which effectively ended the Spiders franchise – the practice of "syndicate ownership" was later banned.
IOW, they didn't lose fair and square, they were sabotaged.

Big win for Skubal. I think the move to make it a 1pm start helped. They would have likely got rained out tonight, with a doubleheader tomorrow...may have messed up a Skubal start.

Skubal pretty much has the Cy Young wrapped up. They’d better keep him.

Beau Brieske...who is this guy?
Yeah, he lost the shutout giving up that homer...but he's been unreal, the guy just bears down and lets it fly.

I just wonder what the Orioles do should the yanks rap up the division, will they rest their starters against the twins the last 3?
Like our chances if Tigers can take 1 more from the Rays...I mean if they cannot take 2-3 from the White Sox to close it out...then, well...

The good news is that if they go 4 wins and 1 loss in their final 5 games, they will finish at 41-121. They will STILL break the 40-120 record of the 1962 Mets, but their win percentage will be better at 25.3% versus 25%.

KC’s going to shut out the Nationals, again!
But at least the Tigers are winning.

Tigers need to take care of business against the White Sox.
The White Sox are about to sweep the Angels, and they will be motivated to play spoiler, and avoid the most losses in a season.
I’m actually a little nervous about this.
