Now, however, Springfield is having a resurgence in manufacturing and job creation. Some of that is thanks to the dramatic influx of Haitian migrants who have arrived in the city over the past three years to fill jobs.

The evidence is overwhelming that this influx of up to 20,000 Haitians into a town of just under 59,000 in 2020, has negatively affected this fragile community.
“The town (Springfield, Ohio), which had a population of 58,622 in 2020, has taken in between 12,000 and 20,000 Haitian refugees over the past three years, marking a population increase of between 20.4% and 34.1%. From 2021 to 2023, Springfield also saw a 51.5% jump in motor vehicle theft reports and a 112.8% spike in reports of shoplifting, data provided by the Springfield Police Division shows.” [1]

They are there legally. They are there to work.

Disingenuous, the Haitians were brought to Springfield, Ohio, via an illegal parole program implemented by the Biden/Harris regime in Jan. 2023.

In summary, the idea is to try to give all of the information to help others to judge the value of your contribution; not just the information that leads to judgment in one particular direction or another. Richard Feynman

“””Dewine runs a Charity in Haiti???? Please MORE!!”””

DeWine started a charity hospital in 1998 to memorialize his daughter who died in 1993.

Google it for more details.

I bet DeWine has a rack of white shoes which would dazzle Imelda Marcos.

He's the type of Republican who has no place in the MAGA party. We've endured his type for decades. Business Round-table. Chamber of Commerce. Country Club Champagne Brunch.

“On the plane to and from Haiti, I noticed that an incredible number of passengers, identifiable with the logos on their t-shirts, were associated with Christian churches or charities.”

“Haitian writer Edwidge Danticat delivers an emotionally charged closing lecture and reading. She unsuccessfully fought back tears when evoking the fate of the more than 200,000 Haitians made stateless by a 2013 ruling of the Dominican Republic Supreme Court. These Haitians are hunted down, persecuted, and deported. Danticat’s tears reminded me of her novel, The Farming of Bones (1998), where she tells the stories of Haitians hunted down and slaughtered by General Rafael Trujillo in 1937.”

“When in 1801 the Haitians proclaim an anti-slavery constitution, U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, while branding Toussaint Louverture and his army as cannibals, spent an inordinate amount of time and energy trying to stop any flow of information between Haiti and the United States. According to the authors of Africans in America, America’s Journey through Slavery (1999), Jefferson considered the Haitian revolution as an “act of banditry and its leaders as nothing more or less than ‘property that has illegally seized a freedom it does not deserve.” For Jefferson and his fellow American slave owners, Haiti’s proximity ignites the fear of a contamination of their own plantations by the freedom virus coming from Haiti–the dangerous Haitian precedent could have percussions in Virginia, Carolina, or even Georgia.”

“The memory of Sam Sharpe (1801-1832), a National Jamaican Hero who led the rebellion of 1831, dominates the film. Fourteen whites died and more than 500 slaves were killed, mostly by white planters or after trials. Sharpe was hanged, but the rebellion ultimately played a critical role in the abolition of slavery.”

“On February 7, 1986, the fall of Jean-Claude Duvalier was followed by the large-scale return of exiles, among whom were numerous university professors, professionals, and business people. The returnees became engaged in the creation of associations for the defense of human rights, research and training centers devoted to development. These humanitarian undertakings led to a new increase in nongovernmental organizations. In the 1990s, thousands of Haitians use freedom boats to escape the nightmare of their country and to head for the American dream. The shipwrecks on the high seas brought about losses of human life that turned the tide of global public opinion. The closing of American borders saw an intensification of action on the part of numerous North American NGOs and the arrival of new NGOs. With the “American dream” inaccessible, NGOs were delegated to bring the much-desired Paradise into the Haitian countryside.”

“The Agony of the Congo (1961): « During the year preceding the granting of Independence, curious things have been happening. The gold reserve disappeared, on the excuse that it was the backing for the pensions and compensation of displaced Belgians.”

You miss my point

If DeWine was a Democrat, his path forward would be clear - simply call Trump a liar, a fascist, an idiot, and go on MSNBC and deny everything, to rally his base.

But DeWine claims to be a Republican, so DeWine is caught between facts on the ground, what is ostensible base wants, and the Republican Presidential candidate who is publicly embarrassing him.

I don't give a crap what RINO DeWine has to say about ANYTHING. What America was like, pre-invasion of Illegals and implementation of the New World Order/Woke transformation has no bearing on what the situation is NOW.

EVERY major Democrat-controlled city is now infested with inner-city tribal parasites...feral predators on "whitey", taking what they consider "their fair share".

4th generation no-husband "families", living of the earnings of others, just like the Illegals they've allowed to invade the former USA..."los Freebies" for everyone, with trillions in debt to fund it. Yeah; remember 40-50 years ago, when we had America that REWARDED common sense, family values, responsibiltiy, decency, and self-respect. It ain't comin' back without a serious fight.

If he indeed has his own Haitian charity, it probably should be fiscally audited to see just how much the admin versus real charity expenses stack up. There are just too many of these schemes that are used to rake off lifestyle money for the organizers. Just sayin’

DeWine sponsors a Haitian charity and absolutely would lie to defend them. Just like during COVID, people like him have no issue lying in support of what they see as a righteous cause.

If he admits and further allows promulgation of the problem he risks losing the Federal Government hush money he’s been paid to comply and remain silent, IMO.

I’d have a lot more respect for DeWine if he’d admit there are some problems with the immigrants and that it is a burden on the community but supports it because it is the right thing to do, bleh bleh bleh. At least that would be honest.

If the Governor of Ohio does not see the destruction and degradation of Springfield, Ohio, then he is just not looking. Even the mayor of that city has kept eyes averted and claims to see little, if any, ruination of the municipal scene, like “No pets are being eaten”. Does the mayor know this for right sure?

The community has been stressed far beyond human endurance, and has been plunged into a nightmare or purely artificial creation. None of this had to be, and there is no redeeming social benefit to be discovered by continuing to inflict this mass of feral humanity upon the long-standing residents.

I understand what you are saying and you are right. Dewine is playing to the MSM for approval and this puts him in the same category as the trash rinos I mentioned previously. Dewine is no friend of Trump.
