Well, I like drinking; but not as much as I love beautiful language and poetry -

I’m also fond of Sarah Williams’ poem, ‘The Old Astronomer to His Pupil” q.v.:

“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night”

In return, I offer you this excerpt from Les Miserables,

Stars

In your multitudes

Scarce to be counted

Filling the darkness

With order and light

You are the sentinels

Silent and sure

Keeping watch in the night

Keeping watch in the night

You know your place in the sky

You hold your course and your aim

And each in your season

Returns and returns

And is always the same

And if you fall as Lucifer fell

You fall in flame!

Javert, from Les Miserables It absolutely blew me away the first time I heard this.
