If there’s one person who understands the struggle that came with the job of Adrian Wojnarowski, it’s fellow ESPN insider Adam Schefter. Wojnarowski shockingly announced he was retiring from ESPN as the outlet’s lead NBA insider on Wednesday morning to become the general manager of the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball program.

As part of his announcement, Wojnarowski said that he was “no longer driven” to make the investment in his role that he needed to and that he wanted to spend his time “in ways that are more personally meaningful.” Adrian Wojnarowski shocked the NBA world on Wednesday when he left his role as

The decision to step away from his role at ESPN means that the 55-year-old NBA newsbreaker would be walking away from roughly $20 million, according to The Athletic.

This is definitely a quality of life play. He will make a fraction of what he was making before. I would be surprised if the GM of that school even makes $200K.

St Bonaventure is a small catholic college in rural western NY, near the PA border.

It will definitely be a big change in lifestyle and atmosphere

Well, if he invested wisely, he’ll be OK.

It’s good to hear about someone who knows the value of the truly important things in life.

Bob Lanier, NBA center, went to St. Bonaventure, graduated 1970. Size 22 shoe.

When people in sports circles get around to naming their top players of ever.... like they ever shut up about that..... it is always the ever present “new guys” who get their endorsements.

Lanier was one of the greats, in the NBA game that I loved, with defenders allowed to defend, dribbling meant up and down, side to side, but no palming or carrying the ball past 1 1/2 steps, “superstars” would get hammered into the hardwood. Imagine guys like Lonnie Shelton or Maurice Lucas taking offense to someone driving on them and pushing off, or flopping.

I loved watching him play, and loved the game that no longer exists. It is simply n***er ball. Tennis with no rackets, and Jimmy Connors plays on every team.

but no palming or carrying the ball past 1 1/2 steps,

If they eliminated that, there would be no NBA.

It would be different, but pick up the ball and go 1 2 3 dunk, is why La Brawn is a star. That plus, he pushes off and they call fouls on the defender.

He is correct, he would be better in the NFL, and I would watch just to see if he gets injured.

I've always thought it would be awesome to see an NBA game using high school-level refs. Nonstop turnovers!
