The Finance Minister has ruled out abolishing inheritance tax, saying it would not be fair.
Former Justice Minister Alan Shatter has launched a campaign to abolish the tax.
Children can currently inherit €335,000 from their parents before they have to pay tax, but anything above that rate is taxed at a rate of 33%.

Might be a good idea. Can’t take it with you and your kids might be affected in a negative way. Help pay down the debt as long as the government is gutted.

Abolition of all rights of inheritance.The left cares nothing for paying down the debt they incurred, and raising taxes does nothing towards contributing to such. Increasing tax revenue requires lowering tax rates and abolishing the kind of taxes that communists favor.

It’s pretty damaging when the kids have to sell the family farm to get cash to pay the taxes.
Who are you to say what’s plenty? Nice commie talking point there comrade. A farm, ranch or business is likely to be worth millions. Inheritance taxes are outright theft.
