The beauty of baseball is there’s always a first we haven’t seen before, and here we go again.
Tuesday night’s game between the Houston Astros and San Diego Padres couldn’t have been more filled with drama, and then when we got to the ninth inning, things started to overflow when Houston superstar Jose Altuve was up to bat with two outs and a runner on second base. The game was tied 3-3 at the time.
Squaring off against San Diego relief pitcher Robert Suarez, Altuve knocked what originally appeared to be a grounder to third to put an end to the inning. However, Altuve didn’t attempt to run to first whatsoever, instead telling the home plate umpire Brennan Miller that the ball popped off his foot prior to it going into play, which would’ve been a foul ball.
After the fact, Altuve started to argue with Miller, and then eventually Astros manager Joe Espada came out to join him. Initially, it appeared that Altuve was going to let Espada handle the situation with the umpire, but no, he was actually taking off both his shoe and sock so he could show the ump his naked left foot to prove he’d been hit by the ball. (LMAO)
Needless to say, Miller didn’t appreciate it, quickly ejecting Altuve from the game. Espada was also kicked out of the game not much longer after.

And then come to find out, Altuve ended up being right, making this story that much more hilarious.
And the Astros got their justice in the form of a victory!
It can’t get more baseball than this, ladies and gentlemen.
Good thing it didn’t hit him in the thigh or well, you know.
I loathe any and all things Houston, but the short guy was right...foul ball. Replace umps with robots. Robots can’t be embarrassed.
Maybe the Ump had a foot fetish...................
was there a buzzer on his foot?
Probably a bruise!.................
I watched this game. Kind’a fun. Astros won 4-3 in the bottom of the 10th.

The cheaters won?
Go Tigers!
😂 🙃
More prima donnas in MLB than any sport. Yes, more than NBA or MLS.
Larry Lucido puts the LL in LOL. ;^)
That’s baseball, Suzan.
I loathe the trashtros!
Yeah really, they’ve only got to win at least 9 of their last 10...
Tigers’ problem is they don’t have the tiebreaker on the Royals and Twins. The good news is they only have to catch one of them, so 8-2 might get it done. But they must complete the sweep against KC.
And they do close against the White Sox. And the Orioles seem to be choking now, as well.
Also for all intents and purposes this is the playoffs for the Tigers.
And sometimes a team in “playoff mode” at the end of the season can carry that into the post season.
The Rangers were the last seed in the AL last year, and we all know how they did.
It *can* happen...
