Is this some kind of “craziness contest” that the left is competing in?

Nutty people should not be around nuclear weapons.
Sad that this is even an issue.
Queers are nutty.
I know it, you know it, they know it. Everybody knows it.
Yes they do not deserve persecution.
No they do not deserve to work in a field like nuclear weapons and reactors.
Or flying passengers around.
Other things may be added to this list.
Sorry, but they made a career decision when they went gay.

Discrimination against queer people can undermine nuclear security and increase nuclear risk. When America was still governed by relatively sane people, being a faggot was an impediment to being granted a security clearance ...

Yes they do not deserve persecution. Define "persecution".
Now, consider THEIR definition of "persecution".
Now you see the problem.
Yes ... they DO deserve persecution.

Meanwhile Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin sit back and laugh, as this idioticy requires us to eventually disarm our nukes.

Not all are nutty. Probably far less than half are nutty.

Of many reasons why our country is declining one is we are stuck with these archaic principles that no longer apply as well as they did when 1/2 the country was wilderness. such as immigration. Not only are the numbers no longer needed but the old belief that any immigrant is good if lawfully done is invalid. Truth is we are not getting quality immigrants anymore in many cases. Haiti is just example and in this disaster is first generation Sneha Nair. For gosh sake she actually wrote an article about “queering” nuclear weapons where she specifically picked on and attacked white males. She is counterculture in every sense of the phrase: LGBTQ radical, feminist, abortionist, political leftist, racist, and probably eats live kittens and puppies for fun..(ok..trying to joke here). Ist generation…and we are getting many, many of them like that.

We need an immigration moratorium…total ban for 4 years and then restructured to only let a limited number of highly vetted people in based on merit and our needs. Do I think that will happen? Hell no.

Holy crap.
We have populated our nuclear agencies with people who apparently know LITTLE about nuclear issues, and are hostile to nuclear power. Being homosexual, they are likely to be against anything military or related to nuclear weapons (with security issues and such) and only view them through a prism of homosexuality.
Apparently.
When we read the kind of stupid, nonsense pap that this person (Sneha Nair) spews out, it should frighten everyone.
People working in this agency should be wholly professional and focused on the issues of processing, handling, and development of nuclear technologies.
This is appalling. I have training in dealing with nuclear materials, and this just makes my skin crawl.
My concerns are with the casks of spent material get from point A to point B , where and how we are storing our spent nuclear product, how we should be encouraging various nuclear technologies, or keeping our nuclear weapons safe for handling until the terrible prospect that they might need to be used.
It makes my blood boil to read this. I have always viewed homosexuals I have encountered professionally in life as individuals first with a sexual peccadillo second, but that stops with this. Of all things, this is the very LAST thing we want, is people who refuse to comprehend the biological difference between a male and a female. How can absolute idiot dipshits like that be expected to tell the difference between an Alpha particle and a Beta particle?
Follow The Science MY ASS.
This is insane. Absolutely insane.

"Exclusion and unfair treatment of queer individuals .. creates vulnerabilities in nuclear decision making." How??
Doesn't an education in nuclear physics/science, and possibly political science, create strong nuclear decision making?

Nair has held roles at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization in Austria and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in the Netherlands. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and holds an MA (Honours) in Geography and International Relations from the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom.”
Nair’s bio shows no degrees in nuclear science but she is co-author of “Queering nuclear weapons: How LGBTQ+ inclusion strengthens security and reshapes disarmament,” published by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Her co-author Louis Reitmann, is a research associate at the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation and a board member of the Emerging Voices Network, organized by the British American Security Information Council (BASIC). In the 60's the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists was a commie front organization...

Take the lower half of humanity and add in those in the upper half that get government funded and you have the recipe for Democratic victory.
