After years of trying to unload his Florida mansion, Billy Joel has finally struck a deal. The Piano Man has found a buyer for his sprawling pad after a six-year saga of price changes and market re-listings, The Post has learned. Joel snagged the oceanfront Manalapan property for $22.1 million in 2015. But the price tag saw major fluctuations in value — first hitting the market for $33 million in 2018, reemerging in 2022 at a whopping $64.9 million and falling by $10 million by January 2024. The final listing settled at $49.9 million. The purchase price? Still under wraps, since the sale is in contract, meaning the transaction has not yet closed. Reps for Joel declined to comment on the pending sale. Christian Angle, of Christian Angle Real Estate, had the listing and didn’t respond to a message seeking comment. Despite the back-and-forth prices, the estate — located some 13 miles from Palm Beach — screams luxury. Sitting on 1.61 acres, this Mediterranean-style beauty was built in 2010 and boasts a jaw-dropping 13,349 square feet of pure grandeur. Spread across three stories, it offers nine bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms and a guest house to boot. Guests arriving through the fountained terrace are greeted by a two-story foyer featuring a sparkling crystal chandelier. The home’s interior is decked out with coffered ceilings, white stonework and a sweeping double staircase framed by sleek black railings.

I don’t recall anything particularly exceptional or difficult in the drum parts of Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song) but DeVitto’s brushy shuffling intro, and really throughout the song, on Only the Good Die young IS outstanding. Both are very memorable songs however.
DeVitto was a monster live, though.
No margin for error on that ocean front property.
A 140 mph hurricane and 15 foot waves would convert a couple billion dollars of mansions into an ocean front sandbar.
The biggest part of the price is in the form of the location.
Usually when someone buys a property in Palm Beach, they tear down the house and build a new one.
I don’t know anything about it but it does make one wonder if all celebrities of one kind or another - even politicians - treat their underlings that way. There have always been stories about others. That disappoints me about Billy Joel - so love his music...I thought I had read that he taught himself to play the piano at a very young age but that appears not to be true - he reluctantly took lessons at an early age at his mother’s insistence. Well, it paid off monetarily but not if it didn’t make him a good man! Sad..

Billy Joel home is 13,300sq/ft
On just 1.61 acres. Priced at $49.9 million.
That home is 4 times smaller and the land is 10+ times smaller then Trump’s.
Trump can use this sale in his appeal with that corrupt judge who lied about the home value of $18 million.
