Pete tossed Ronnie Lane around
Never heard of ‘em.
I know. I’m one of them.
I don’t subscribe to the grace slick koolaid. I like the spirit of the jazz guys who play until they die or can’t perform.
What is the grace slick cool aid? She was rocking into her 70s wasn’t she? And on the subject of grace slick she when she was younger she was one of the most if not the most beautiful women in rock roll ever.
Probably 2nd was the lead singer to the bangles
Because he couldn't admit to himself that the sound man was turning him down because he sounded terrible. (If they even had a sound man).
I donâÂÂt know if this would have even made the headlines back in 1993 when a few people knew who they were. Someone remind me who they are again?
About 1995 one of them did a short solo thing
There was a song that I really liked
I know it was 1994-1995 because I know which job I was working at the time
But I CANNOT remember which one or which song it was
Oops 😬
I was pretty overwhelmed with stuff for about the next 10 years
Might have been “Pete’s Dad”
Might have been “Pete’s Dad”
Grace slick retired from music in 1990 and later said was, “All rock-and-rollers over the age of 50 look stupid and should retire.”.
Who? The only Navarro I know of is Peter. heh.
Ping
I want to say it was Perry but it might have been the guitarist 🎸🎸🎸🎸
It was Gary Larson, not Kliban, but whatever.... and the cartoon's soundman was named "Raymond".
In the late 90's I was playing in a couple bands that gigged at a college bar/club in Ithaca NY, where the layout of the room was horrendous, the main PA speakers were necessarily asymmetrically positioned, the monitors covered a third of the stage because the stage was so small. But it was a fun crowd to play for.
Anyway, one of the regular soundman was named Raymond, so we printed up a huge poster of that cartoon and mounted it above the mixing console. And from time to time one of the guitarists would yell out, "Raymond! Gimme more suck in my monitor!" It was a hoot.
Copying Chode in case he remembers The Nines in Collegetown....
That would have been the sensible thing to do.
I've been known to put down my guitar, jump off the front of the stage, and storm back to the soundboard and give the soundman a piece of my mind. Never hit anybody though, I'm noisy but non-violent.
"Friends Don't Let Friends Mix Monitors"
lol...
