Caitlin Clark's historic rookie season continued on Friday night.
The Indiana Fever guard recorded her 317th assist of the year in the second quarter against the Las Vegas Aces, setting a new WNBA single-season record. Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas held the previous record of 316, which was set in 2023.
Clark has continued to make history throughout her first year in the WNBA, surpassing the single-season three-point record among rookies on Aug. 28. She also dished out 19 assists in a loss to the Dallas Wings in July, setting a single-game record.
Fans were amazed by her latest accomplishment:
Clark racked up six assists in 14 minutes throughout the first half of Indiana's clash with Las Vegas, although the Fever trailed 43-35.
It's extremely impressive that she was able to break the single-season assist record as a rookie, especially considering Indiana still has two games remaining on its schedule.
Clark has exceeded the lofty expectations that were placed upon her after she was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft following a remarkable collegiate career at Iowa. She earned WNBA Rookie of the Month honors in May, July and August.

The 22-year-old was named an All-Star on July 2 and has continued to improve as her rookie season has progressed. Since the start of July, she's averaging 22.6 points and 10.2 assists per game.
Clark has thrived alongside two-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell and 2023 Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston in Indiana's starting lineup. The trio helped the Fever earn a playoff spot on Sept. 4, marking the franchise's first postseason appearance since 2016.
Clark will look to continue her record-breaking season and help Indiana maintain its playoff positioning, as the team currently owns the No. 7 seed with a record of 19-18.
Just remember, that Angel Reese chick should be the Rookie of the Year...
People have bad political opinions all the time. I could go around locally, find plenty. I still think Clark is the real deal.
We don’t get the kind of athlete, certainly not female, too often that captures the masses eyes like Clark has.
That is patently false. If that were true, then why didn’t Taylor Swift, the 88 business people, and all the other people endorsing Harris just like a post? Because liking a post isn’t really anything.
There was no endorsement.
I’m pretty sure she has crushed their all-time record for turnovers, at 5.7 per game.
I’m so angry with her that will not watch the wmba even more.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

She may lose a lot of fans over what she did. It makes me think a lot less of her. Her struggles with those players who hate her has given her a lot of positive juju.
Liking Taylor's mindless stupidity, not so much.
Virtue signaling.
It was a better world before we knew how everybody voted.
2 games left and needs 14 3s to tie the 3pt season record. Unlikely to do that, but there’s a chance. May want to get the T out of the way and rest for the last game of the season. Not sure how the playoffs treat the Ts.
I think it starts all over in the playoffs.
She had three choices……..”like”, “not like” and no response. Taylor Swift posted a political endorsement, Clark “liked” it. What makes anyone think Caitlin Clark would be anything different than the rest of the “woke” white college women? Because she’s white? Not gay? Tossed around by black girls?
