The whole, only popular because Cobain committed suicide isn’t opinion though. It’s demonstrably false.

Can’t argue that you may not like them, as music is subjective. My wife hates them. But their popularity on the merit of their music honestly isn’t debatable.

Nah, I don’t really like the band, or him, but I’ve always liked the groove and the screaming, kinda reminds me of an early Mick Jagger. And the pep rally video is brilliant.

Weird Al asked Cobain for permission to parody “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Cobain asked if Al’s version would be about food. Al straight up told him that it wasn’t, that it was going to be about how no one could understand what Nirvana was singing. Cobain loved the idea!

I used to love the Doors. But somehow I find them very grating today. Check out the Yardbirds’ “Roger The Engineer” album and get back to me.

Now I’m mumblin’, and I’m screamin’
And I don’t know what I’m singin’
Crank the volume, ears are bleedin’
I still don’t know what I’m singin’
We’re so loud and incoherent
Boy, this oughta bug your parents
Yeah

Grunge killed rock and roll.

It was such depressing music. Nothing at all like the upbeat and fun 80s music. What a disgrace.

Seems like the 90’s is when America took a turn for the worse. Unless I just look at the 80’s with rose colored glasses due to it being my coming of age decade.

Lot of screaming.
This song proved to me you don’t need talent to be a grunge singer.

I feel the same. America in the 80s was so amazing. I did not like the 90s. The ‘rock’ music was so depressing. And filthy crap ‘music’ took over after grunge killed off rock. Everything about society was depressing. Personally, I think this was done intentionally by the powers that be.

Consumerist music and navel-gazing music have run their course. It’s time for a revival of folk.

What the world needs now, is another folk singer, like I need a hole in my head.
