To begin with, sulfur does not turn water red. I was thinking iron, not sulfur.

Volcanic action may have been the mechanics, but God allowed the plagues due to Pharoah’s stubborn and unrepentent heart.

I seem to recall that this theory runs afoul of a date discrepancy.

There is no need to invoke the natural as explanation for the supernatural.
I mean, when Jesus fed 4,000 and 5,000, do we need to seek gravitational, solar, or any other “perfectly plausible” suppositions for such utterly supernatural

At least one of the plagues wasn’t boy bands. That’s a modern one.

Some men will do ANYTHING to avoid the ‘Revealing Light’ of God’s Word.
This ‘Revealing Light’ puts us, the sinner headed for Eternal Damnation’ on notice, that we must decide if we will accept God’s gift of life (ONLY found in His Son, Jesus Yeshua the Christ) thru repentance (turning from our current path of sin) to faith in Jesus:
What about YOUR heart?

The entity that created the entire universe, all life on Earth and resurrected his dead son can probably resolve issues any way he pleases

The pastor in church was talking about Jonah and the whale. Or “fish”. Related some story about a guy (in the 1970’s?) that survived for some time inside a whale.
My daughter said something like “Or God could have just created a creature using a miracle just for that purpose - to save Jonah.”
The even greater miracle was the huge city of Ninevah that was filled with terrible evil people that repented of their ways.

“I mean, when Jesus fed 4,000 and 5,000...”
I have heard liberals say that it wasn’t a miracle, but by Jesus kick-starting it, others became more generous and started sharing their food with others. (So we need to be taxed more so we can share with our neighbors in modern times - “It takes a village”)
Never mind they were in the middle of nowhere and with nothing to eat.

Without new evidence, nobody’s going to iron out the timeline discrepancy.
As to the animals and firstborn, a video somewhere suggested that toxic gases during the night could have killed anyone on ground level, and that a firstborn son was typically not upstairs under the roof. It could also explain animal deaths. I suppose. *shrug*

[snip] ...the eruption of Thera definitely occurred in the reign of Ahmose I, which was after that northern dynasty had already been driven out. Therefore, the Ten Plagues would have occurred before the eruption of Thera. [/snip]
The eruption of Thera definitely occurred AFTER reign of Ahmose I. Therefore, the Ten Plagues would have occurred WELL before the eruption of Thera.

Also one of *those* topics, so, nice twofer.

Locusts reproduce on at least a 7 year cycle? They dont explode in population because we have a rainy year, do they? I mean I know, there is a whole lotta lot of them, but there is just a bit more to it than that.
