Thank you for your post. EMS worked on him for nearly 45 minutes, then 20 more in ER with the doctor. They tried to prevent me coming into ER but I refused to be stopped. I guess they had some hope because he was so fit and only 53. I’m now fully convinced when it’s your time and the days God has given are up, that’s that. Nothing can stop the inevitable. It answers a question I used to have about why some folks who don’t take care of themselves and are so unhealthy live to be old although fit people like my husband don’t. It’s just not their time and they are stuck dealing with the poor health they caused. That said I realize some have issues not self inflicted. Those my heart truly goes out to.
While in the VA hospital I saw lots of patients who had problems that could not be fixed. I consider myself lucky that I became better than when I went in. Probably added more years than I had actually served.
