The Hodge Twins weigh in on Tyreek Hill's traffic stop.

Maybe until they tackled him because he was not sitting on the curb fast enough for them. They went over the line there and that is what will end up getting them sued unless his PR people convince him to let it go.
I don’t even care much about the tint on the windows, but it is absolutely a safety issue for cops. And I doubt the cops would have said anything about them. They probably would have just written him a ticket.
But nope. He had do do that his way.
If I had an interaction with police like that, I would fully expect several more police cars to arrive, for me to be pulled from the car, cuffed, and put into the back of a cruiser as my car was towed away.
The fact that he walked away is disgusting to me, because if I had been the one in that car, I have no doubt my lilly-white ass would have been handled quite differently.
Oh, the police officers will no doubt be disciplined, not because they did something wrong, but because of who Tyreek Hill is.
Of course, he played the race card, too. I stopped being an NFL fan after about fifty years of being a rabid fan because of the kneeling and the league’s approval and complicity in it. And he even had the gall to bring that up.
In this case the level of tint was,IMO,*absolutely* an officer safety issue. With that really dark window they can’t be sure that this guy...who had already proven himself to be a punk...wasn’t reaching for a gun.
Hill is a thug with a 10-year record of legal problems and encounters with law enforcement. He strangled and punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, broke the arm of his 3 y/o son, broke the leg of another girlfriend, and choked & battered a man who objected to Hill’s presence on a private boat dock. The scene with police on Sunday is just another black mark on his record. Feral animal.
I don’t disagree.
first thing I notice is, he passed a bunch of cars. Second thing I noticed is, his driver window is ‘down’. You can see the front windshield thru the car. When he stops tho, the window goes up.
$ is funny
your number 3) : from the OP video: he was on a clear straight-away with minimal traffic after he turned by the motorcycle cop, who had to gun it to catch up to him
your number 4) : I couldn’t catch what his plates said. Does DMV encode occupation on your DL/plate info? or is it just priors that would come up such as maybe the 2014 assault/battery?
the humorous part of this all was Mommy showing up
Scum bag
Did someone dupe you into thinking that living in Phoenix wasn't like sitting in in a frying pan? ;)
Get yourself a car cockpit cover. I've used one forever and the interior is only as hot as the ambient temperature.
Hmmm... Which one of Chris Rock's 'tips' did Hill not follow?
If he just had knee surgery and couldn't sit on the ground, why was he playing in a game that same day?
I can think of several Chris Rock 'tips' he didn't follow.
Maybe Cubans don’t like African Americans & considered him to be insolent & disrespectful. I grew up in a middle class family with a dad who was career military. I would never in a million years talk to a law enforcement officer in that manner. Tyreek was obviously poorly raised and is a low class, arrogant bully who is used to pushing his partner and his kid around. He figured he’d do the same to the cops but he failed miserably.
Cop reaction, if the guy was 50 mph over the speed-limit...simply get the guy out of the car...call the tow-guys...confiscate the car until a judge can settle this, and take the guy’s license for six months. I’d impound the car for six months. You don’t even need to handcuff the guy or lay him on the ground. This should be a simple scripted episode.
I disagree. From the get-go, the infantile behavior on the part of the jackass behind the wheel is what made that entire chain of events happen.
“Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window! Don’t knock on my window!...”
If he had rolled down his window, then we would agree. It would be a “simple scripted episode”.
I love how all the Freepers who saw cops during the lockdowns - pulling people out of their houses for “congregating”, arresting people for not wearing masks, closing parks, preventing people from visiting their loved ones in hospitals, arresting people for speaking out at school board meetings, etc... go right back to “back the blue” and “police are always right”.
There is no law so depraved and evil that cops wouldn’t enforce it...including the murder of children.
I didn’t watch the video but I will take some exception to your comments.
Under the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution, you have an absolute right to be secure in your person, property and papers. That means that absent suspicion of an articulable crime, a cop cannot just approach you and demand proof of identity or ask what you are doing or where you are going.
I was pulled over a few weeks ago for an expired license plate. I had noticed the day before that it had been expired for almost a year. (Fleet car. Fleet company screwed up and never sent it)
The Trooper came to my window, identified himself and told me that he was recording me. I said “That’s fine. So am I”
He laughed. He then told me why he pulled me over, checked my records and sent me on my way.
Many police get on their power trip I MUST BE OBEYED. No. They MUST be directly disobeyed if they are abridging your Constitutional rights.
Most of them have no Constitutional knowledge at all. I learned that directly from a Constitutional Sheriff.
Always record every interaction with Police. Most will be good as in my story above. Trust but verify.
The cops never should have stopped that car. No good could ever come out of it.
