Ireland needs to do more to adapt to climate change, according to the Climate Change Advisory Council (CCAC) which says investment is urgently needed to avoid the worst damage and higher costs that it can bring in future years.

The council published its annual progress report on how Ireland is preparing for the impacts of climate change.

It said coastal erosion and flooding are the biggest risks.

The report suggests part of the budget every year should be ring-fenced for adaptation measures, including making road and electricity networks more resilient to climate change.

It predicts coastal flooding will cost €2 billion every year by 2050, if adaptive measures are not taken.

In the same scenario, river flooding would cost €60 million per year.

It said that these costs could be greatly reduced if there is sufficient investment now and the right measures are taken. …

First step should be to disband the CCAC.

I read these articles about X country needing to do more as a shakedown. Plain and simple. There’s no science here. This is an agency looking for a sovereign nation to pony over tax payer dollars for bullshit.

There IS NO climate emergency. In fact, the only emergency is coming from the imaginations of the commie crybullies.

Ireland too has become a financial hub, run by bankers and lawyers, surrounded by poverty hiding just behind the picturesque landscapes.

Well then, it’s a good thing the EU court ordered Apple to pay them $13 billion in taxes they didn’t ask for.

Bingo. Anthropogenic “climate change” is a TOTAL fraud generated by INSANE college professors, equally insane globalist elites, and a huge mob of brainwashed, propagandized idiots.

"according to the Climate Change Advisory Council (CCAC) which says investment is urgently needed to avoid the worst damage and higher costs that it can bring in future years."

As some of my friends from the Bronx might reply--with a deadpan that could seem ominous if they didn't like the speaker and a descending flight of stairs was within view: "Yuh funny."

At least they are talking about mitigation of possible effects of climate change, not trying to change the atmosphere. They may not need it to manage a “crisis”. but improving infrastructure usually isn’t a bad idea.

Nonsense. Ireland is too small to make any noticeable difference.
I doubt any country, not even China, could make any meaningful difference either.

Perpetually green, mostly rural Ireland is a climate villain. So they must sacrifice their ways and now bankrupt themselves to mitigate the ‘disaster’. This on top of importing millions of illegals, who then must be fed, housed, medicated, and policed [just kidding] at their expense, and its straight to jail for those who complain.

The Emerald Isle natives must really like getting it up the rear.
