Cannibalism is as American as minced meat (haha) pie.

Costner’s Horizon had no problem depicting multiple versions of the American Indian. But not this one however.
there is a movie (featured on amazon) which revolves around this. worth a look. forgot the title (will post if i remember it).
Seen a segment on Ancient Aliens or one of those other tabloid-esque series.
They were supposedly 7 to 9 feet tall, red-haired, cave dwellers, and not overly intelligent (so some have suggested Neanderthal, while others say they were ‘giants’). They indigenous tribe got so tired of their people being hunted or snatched for canibal consumption that they boxed them in the cave one night and stacked up a very large amount of deadwood and burned/smoked them to death.
There was a rugby 🏉 team that was involved in a plane ✈️ crash 💥 in the Andes mountains 🏔 back in 1972 that had to resort to eating the dead bodies before being rescued.

So I guess the Scots were the first to the Americas.
Did they have a tear in their eye as they ate their fellow Indians? Just think-dear old Uncle Bosey met the same fate!
red-haired cannibalistic people whom the Piutes exterminated
Now we must worry about the black Haitian cannibals.
Poor Springfield, Ohio!

The accounts of when all this is supposed to have happened are confused, from “many hundred years ago” (Winnemucca) to “four or five generations ago” (Winnemucca’s brother, known as Natchez) to “an old Northern Paiute man recently died at Stillwater who is said to have taken part in it, and to have had one eye shot out by an arrow in one of the charges on the cave mouth” (reported by Loud and Harrington).[3]
Some accounts describe the Si-Te-Cah as very tall,[10] or as giants,[11] a thing not mentioned either by Winnemucca or by Loud and Harrington, who say that all their informants describe “ordinary human beings living an entirely rational human life. It is barely possible that further inquiry might bring out supernatural traits,
but of all the numerous references made to them (the exterminated), there are no characteristics mentioned but what might well be possessed by some tribe hostile to the Northern Paiute”.
so....................lots of fake news. Wikipedia is right now and then.
Adrienne Mayor writes about the Si-Te-Cah in her book Fossil Legends of the First Americans.[14] She suggests that the “giant” interpretation of the skeletons from Lovelock Cave and other dry caves in Nevada was started by entrepreneurs setting up tourist displays and that the skeletons themselves were of normal size.
My Uncle Bosey was eaten by cannibals while exploring the Wild West.
I’m at least 1/4 American Indian, and I have essential tremor. Tremor is caused by amyloid tangles along brain motor and sensory nerves. The tangles are the result of an autoimmune response to a prion attack. Think “mad cow disease”.

These prions can be either inherited, contracted by eating infected meat, or both.
Did you hear about the cannibal? He passed a friend in the jungle.
The explorer Verrazzano was killed and eaten by Caribs, a year after his voyage exploring what is now the east coast of the United States.
The Donner party and lifeboat stories have nothing to do with the actual cannibalism that people practice as part of their culture.
"Lovelock, Nevada, is about eighty miles northeast of Reno. It was in a cave near here, in 1911, that guano miners found mummies, bones, and artifacts buried under four feet of bat excrement. The desiccated bodies belonged to a very tall people - with red hair.
