The brilliant economist, who received a Ph.D. in mathematical physics from Harvard University

Apparently the author of this article knows nothing about its subject.

Eric Weinstein isn't an economist. He has worked as a managing director of Peter Thiel's hedge fund, but he has no background in economics. Just math and physics.

He's a very smart guy--brilliant--but he has no credentials in the field of economics (despite the fact that his Wiki page refers to him as an economist). A little digging and/or watching some of Eric's podcasts would apprise the author of this.

He may not have a degree in economics, but if he’s been working for a hedge fund, presumably using his math expertise to do financial modeling, then he probably knows economics better than most current economics professors.
