Between collectivists and constitutionalists, yes. The illegals might play a part, but maybe they just leave, or they will need to chose sides.
I dont see it happening as geographically deliniated as the North vs the South, but urban vs. rural. Our civil war was much different bacback in 1860’s vs what we see in the modern age. Its VERY messy now. Intermingled faction vs. faction...like the Balklan war. Much worse the CW1 i fear.
Hopefully it will turn into RWII and we get our Republic back.

One thing that I see though is that the urban are at a distinct disadvantage.
They are isolated from each other by rural, plus, they are dependent on the rural for food and fuel.
Not to mention that rural are better experienced in firearms because of hunting and know better how to survive out of doors.
If the urban folks leave the cities, especially during the winter, exposure and illness will take out a lot of them. They'll likely be compromised healthwise anyways mostly because of hunger, but the way I see so many people dress in the winter these days, they'll freeze to death quickly no matter how tough they pretend to be in their shorts and t-shirts in a snowstorm.
