Apparently, the mistake wasn't even noticed until the autopsy, where the examiner found the deceased was missing his liver, but still had a spleen. p>Thank goodness the Pathologist / Coroner wasn't as incompetent!

Imagine if the Coroner's report had instead read:

"The decedent's body had mysteriously transformed into a large pot roast, with all the trimmings, and migrated into my refrigerator. But I proceeded with autopsy, and found no evidence of wrong-doing on the part of the surgeon. Also: It was delish!"

I thought having the surgeon verify and mark the surgical area with a marker and initials was standard practice.

But that ain't no help to the surgeon, if that durned spleen is changing color, tripling in size, moving to the other side of the body, and masquerading as a liver!

Wow really hard to not know you took the liver out, close the hospital and charge the surgeon and hospital medical director with murder.

Well the problem wasn’t that they removed it. They could have reimplanted had they not cut his major artery causing him to bleed out.

Yes I don’t know how you mix up a liver with a spleen but still real cause of death was they bled him out
