STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 34-year-old woman is accused of trying to grab a police officer’s firearm from his holster during a wild melee at Faber Pool in Port Richmond last week.

A video clip of the final seconds of that chaotic scene showing the officer shove the woman, who then topples down a flight of concrete stairs, was posted on social media and provided to the Advance/SILive.com by a reader.

Authorities were summoned to the pool around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, said a spokesman for the NYPD.

Witnesses told the Advance/SILive.com the altercation began between kids then escalated into a fight between adults, before safety personnel stepped in to break up the commotion.

The defendant, Rikyra Pringle of the 500 block of Richmond Terrace in New Brighton, was seen engaged in a verbal dispute with another female which escalated when the two women began “striking each other with closed fists,” according to the criminal complaint.

As a uniformed NYPD officer intervened, Pringle “attempted to steal” the loaded Glock handgun secured in his holster to use against the other woman, the complaint alleges.

Pringle is accused in the complaint of “placing her hand on said gun’s handle and tugging.”

“The officer pushed the individual away from him in an effort to prevent her from gaining possession of his firearm,” said the NYPD statement.

Police allege Pringle resisted arrest by flailing her arms and legs when the officer tried to arrest her.

Pringle was ultimately taken into custody and refused medical attention, police said.

The six-second video clip provided to the Advance/SILive.com shows seven people standing at or near the top of the steps that lead down into the pool area.

Two of the people seen in the footage are a uniformed NYPD officer and a Parks security staff member.

At the zero second mark, the woman, identified by police as Pringle, could be seen standing face to face and just inches away from the uniformed officer.

The officer appears to be on the highest step and Pringle’s arm is extended toward the officer’s waist, although the view of her hand is obstructed by the Parks employee’s body.

At the one-second mark, the officer gives Pringle a shove backward and then she tumbles down about 10 steps.

The video clip ends with the officer making his way down the stairs in her direction.

Pringle has been charged with attempted grand larceny; obstruction of governmental administration; resisting arrest and attempted criminal possession of a weapon and firearm.

Witnesses told the Advance/SILive.com they were “shocked,” that such an incident occurred at a pool families frequent.

The defendant was arraigned in court on June 29.

Pringle pleaded not guilty on all counts and was released on bail with non-monetary conditions, online records indicate.

Pringle’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the arrest.

The defendant’s next court appearance, according to online court records, will be Aug. 13.

Emboldened by the failure to put down the BLM riots, politicians’ support of those riots, the sham trials and convictions of the Minneapolis police, the refusal of Soros funded DA & AG’s to charge and incarcerate “people of color”, no cash bail, the Obamas’ racism and hatred of America,.... etc, etc.
