Within the US, the whole “Narrative” of slavery is totally skewed.
Within the iconic historical period of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, the VAST majority of slaves went to the Caribbean or South America. And most of those died because conditions were so brutal — which is why more and more had to be shipped over from Africa.
The relatively few slaves that were sent to the American South had difficult lives, but were comparatively better off. And then they were freed. And became US citizens. And have full rights. They’ve been elected President. Served on the Supreme Court. Become billionaires.
And they are pissed at how unfair it all is.
Meanwhile, in the UK and other places, slavery continues, and is brutal and dehumanizing. Does Oprah care? Jesse Jackson? Cornel West? No.
And the children being disappeared in the US for sex trade or whatnot — do the African Americans care about this current slave trade? No. They ain’t black. Why should they care? Gimme my reparations.
“They’ve been elected President. Served on the Supreme Court. “
Obama was NOT a descendant of slaves. His daddy was from Kenya. His mommy was white.
“do the African Americans care about this current slave trade? No. They ain’t black. Why should they care?”
Those enslaved now, some come from Haiti, some from Africa. And there’s a slave trade in Africa and Asia, blacks both involved in it and victimized by it.
Kamala’s daddy’s family owned slaves in Jamaica, way back when.
Obama was not the descendant of slaves.
His father’s tribe were the slavers in Africa.
