There's no doubt that things can get physical in the WNBA, and Caitlin Clark can be the first one to attest to that. In her rookie season with the Indiana Fever, she's hit the floor several times, and some have come as flagrant fouls against the opposing teams. An interesting stat came up on a Caitlin Clark stats page on X, formerly Twitter, that could shock some people who watch her.
“Interesting stat: 17% of the WNBA’s flagrant fouls this season have been committed against Caitlin Clark. The Chicago Sky were responsible for 80% of the flagrants committed against Clark,” the Clark Report page tweeted.
To add to the stats, Sporting News reporter Steph Noh made a clip of the flagrant fouls that were committed against Clark, and most of them have come against playing the Sky.
The Fever and the Sky games are always physical, and it looks like Clark takes most of the hits. In their latest matchup, the Sky were assessed two flagrant fouls, and both came against Clark. Of course, these games get the most attention because of the battle between Clark and Angel Reese, but they have also become bigger because both are in the playoff picture and trying to win each and every night.
The latest flagrant foul committed against Caitlin Clark came when Chicago Sky's Diamond DeShields committed a hard foul that made the Indiana Fever hit the floor. After Clark hit the floor, DeShields tried to help her up, but she immediately got up and went to the other side of the court, and the foul was later upgraded to a flagrant 1.
Earlier this season, Clark took a hard foul against Chennedy Carter when the two teams faced each other.

No matter how much they try to pump up the excitement and interest in the women’s BB game, it’s still just not that great, sorry WNBA fans. It’s just not.
I get that but CC is the female version of Micahel Jordan. Just my opinion though.
I think Clark’s action on the floor show how she plans on standing up to them. If they lose enough games against her, they might just go all Tonya Harding. And then nobody will watch their games.
Look Zhang Fei, you pull that crap in men’s basketball and you have a riot, and then you have injuries that affect the outcome of the season. Women’s basketball has got to hire the equivalent of the Celtics Jim Luscutoff.
Imagine what would Larry Bird do in this situation? I know it was a little bit different during his time. At least Robert Parish backed him up.
Tribe is more important than team.
LOLZ! They called him “Jungle Jim” for a reason!
The wording of that story is weird. It is like they are blaming C. Clark for the fouls.
This should be BY the opposing team. Not ‘against’.
“and some have come as flagrant fouls against the opposing teams”
They Sky have committed 13.6% of all flagrant fouls in the WNBA against JUST Caitlin Clark !
They excuse it as ‘Fever and the Sky games are always physical’.
and say ‘and it looks like Clark takes most of the hits’. Gee, ya think dumb asses !
They give credit for ‘DeShields’ ‘tried to help her up’ as if the foul as unintentional and not malicious.
They also said ‘Clark took a hard foul against Chennedy Carter’.
That is an inappropriate use of the word ‘against’
Chennedy Carter committed a flagrant fould against Caitlin Clark.
Try saying that headline fast 3 times, without adding an ‘l’ to ‘foul’ = floul. Not easy!
The response was delivered by Marty McSorley!!
Just imagine if this was white players repeatedly fouling a black player flagrantly. Imagine the media outrage.
White girl bleed a lot mentality.
the The Chicago Sky coach should be fired.
Larry Bird was a rough and tumble dirty player himself. He didn’t need anyone to back him up. Other players were intimidated by him.
Caitlin Clark is not at all like Larry Bird. He’s supposedly a real jackass, and he brought that attitude to the court.
He was cocky, with ability. And he
brought that attitude to the court.
He was also oversized for his position as a small forward. So he was usually playing against smaller guys.
I’ve heard some stories from people who live in his neck of the woods who say he’s not a nice guy at all. His meanness is as much of a legend as his ball playing.
You mean she can fly through the air from the free throw line and slam one down? You get my point of course.
Can Larry Bird wear a dress?

An anti-DEI goon.

My friend is a quad. She holds season tickets to the MN Lynx. She loves the game. You know, girl power. She and about 9,000 fans are happy. Like the NFL to me, sorry men who worship their team or a player, it’s not that great.
Let girls have their league. Not all WNBA fans are dykes.
Loved "Slap Shot"...
