U.S. Soldier Who Ran Into N Korea Cuts Plea Deal

The U.S. Army Private who ran across the border from South Korea to North Korea is set to plead guilty to desertion and assault and three other charges as part of a deal with Army prosecutors, his attorney says. Travis King was charged with 14 fourteen offenses under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for the July 2023 incident in which he left a tour group and bolted across the Demilitarized Zone into North Korea.

Anyone remember this guy? It's been a whole year. 14 charges. Pleading guilty to 5 of them. I'm sure we've been feeding him all along-gets expensive.

Looks like he’s getting off easy. Prediction: It will be settled before Jan. 20.

After Jan. 20 I’d bust him down to E-1 rank and make him serve out his term in Camaroon. He’d live good on that salary and come back more appreciative like that basketball player in Russia.

The best punishment would have been to prevent him from returning.A lifetime in North Korea would have been fitting.
