#Iran has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to withstand invasions, making it almost impossible to subjugate. But why is that? What makes Iran so tough?

Look at a map. A topographical map.
Never get involved in a land war in Asia.

Because the Obozo and the Jobama gave them hundreds of billions of dollars of our money for them to build their military and weaponry. A few well placed bunker busters on Terran might change Iran’s aggressive minds.

This is why. It’s no more complex than that.

Someone forgot to tell that to Alexander. :)

Had Jimmy Carter been any part of a president, a single B-52 strike would have wrapped up their revolution and removed any need to invade them now.

There WAS a time back early in the first term of Hussein Obama’s first term when the young in Iran were ready to revolt and make a change. They liked western culture and wanted to become more modern. They were clamoring for some sign of concurrence/help/anything from the US backing the new, young ‘arab street’ in Iran.
BHO ignored them and let the old Iran regime clamp down and neutralize the problem.

BHO ignored them and let the old Iran regime clamp down and neutralize the problem. President Obama has pushed to make Iran a "regional superpower" in the Middle East for as long as I could tell.
Probably because he loved the "death to America" chants...

Iran's hard to beat because when a respected family member comes to visit, often the head of the family quits their job to make sure the guest is treated properly. Also, hundreds of years of fearing the 'midnight knock' has taught them who to trust and how to trust or not.

Could be. He certainly was more interested in ‘controlling’ the current old-ways regime than supporting a complete regime change.

Iran is very hard to defeat because the Obama-Biden-Harris administrations are on Iran’s side against the USA, the UK, and Israel. (Some of the Clinton and Carter administration leadershit are included as well.)
Many of the CIA-DHS-FBI and the State Dept are included.
Less in DOD, but enough to cause problems implementing solutions and plans.
