Look for a small town in a rural area with a good medical facility. Homogenous. There are hundreds of examples, Houlton Maine being a good one. Expect not to have city amenities.

Trust me, if I could find such a place I would move to it. I'm 63, retired, on SSI and retirement annuity, but I also have Long Covid and don't have a whole lot of strength. Post exertion malaise hits me when I try to do anything physical, though I don't have a whole lot and don't need much.

I'm kind of stuck, but believe me, I agree with those here who say that a rural setting is better than a urban one. I would love to live in a rural setting. I've driven out into the country where I live and I love the small homes and cities and if I could ever move to one, I would, in a heartbeat.

But I posted this thread to just kind of get folks thinking. It's like he said in the video, how many of his prepper friends thought about packing finger nail clippers? A small item, but a very vital need. Dude, I got six of them! And yet, not a single one of his friends thought to pack just one. Stuff to trim hair would also be a good thing to have, cups, plates, utensils, garbage bags, candles, matches, etc, etc.

The state bird is the black fly; the state flag is a blue tarp.

That Maine?
