Love it. James Brown is a genius. And one of the most gifted performers to ever grace the stage.

I really miss his high-speed, interstate car chases.

I really thought he died. I refer to him as the Late Great James Brown! Mandela effect.

Anyway, good for him! Where can I watch this?

He knew early on in his career that when performing a show, the song didn’t have to be great, instead it was the attitude that had to be great.

Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones learned about this from the master showman, James Brown.

Aretha Franklin was another one who used this technique to perfection.

I posted “1964”. I don’t know if you are old enough to remember or care but Mickey Dolenz used to do a parody of this, including the cape, during the Monkees live shows. It was very funny. I wish I could find it.

What impressed me about the clip, along with the performance, was the level of frenzy the audience got worked into. THAT is entertainment.

I love the TAMI show. I have an original full sized theatrical movie poster framed and on my wall.

I will get some flack for this opinion, but I find the James Brown performance to be just so much “drama queen” behavior.

That said, seeing it live in the moment was probably pretty cool. TO ME, JMHO, it doesn’t stand up to multiple viewings.

Eddie Murphy did indeed have talent! I think he did himself an injustice by trying to pursue dramatic roles.

I still watch Delirious a few times a year, and I still laugh as much as I did back then.
