If you watch tv shows from the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and see a car driving along then stop they will bounce back and forward and up and down.
I watched the 1950’s Superman and recently ‘M Squad’ with Lee Marvin. The cars would go Boing!! as they stopped.
Very few old cars that don’t have some appeal to someone
Even old Ladas
For 60s Stasi aficionados lol
I was at a memorial Saturday for a younger friend aged 49
A car club guy
Dozens of new lambos and Ferrari and Porsche turbos out at leipers fork at a 20 million dollar estate next to Justin Timberlake digs
As we were leaving I spotted an older 72-74 blue lotus Europa special
I stopped my old Infiniti qx56 I bought for 9500 last year and got out to go look at it rather than the 40 million or so in other modern exotics
That old lotus was always road and tracks king g force tested car back in the day at around .8 Gs
My family was like why that old car dad lol
I had a neighbor who drove an early 70s Lotus Europa. I never drove it but I did get a ride in it. My idea of a great sportscar.
The GM cast iron 4 was basically the same base engine in the 1st generation Chevy Novas and Acadians up in the Great White North in 1962-63. It was a huge improvement. It’s still used for industrial and marine applications.
I drove my Chevy Monza (Vega) for 167K miles until the oil plug blew out on a trip home back in 1991. It lasted from Dec 1978 until May 1991. I replaced it with a new 1990 5spd Geo Storm that had sat on the dealer’s lot for a year, unsold. The Geo threw a rod in 2007 after 187K miles.
