To: Red Badger

When I was a child in the 50s a man set up a “bear ride” on a corner near our house. For a quarter you could ride on the back of a grizzly bear. The bear was quite safe because he had a muzzle on. (You DO recognize sarcasm, right?)

My folks gave me the quarter and let me ride him.

Now, in my 70s I wonder...... what the hell were they thinking?

When I was a child in the late 50’s early 60’s in a small rural town in north Mississippi a man with a black bear came to town and for a quarter you could give the bear a grape soda and watch him sit down hold it between his paws and drink it up just like the Coca-Cola polar bears............
