Ukrainian troops are rolling deeper and deeper inside Russia! Russian generals are incompetent, the propaganda is in shock and Putin is silent!
One military spokesman reassures Russians that all is well, and they should get some popcorn and enjoy watching the military crush this incursion. That was two weeks ago.
Russia has some of its troops doing a joint military exercise with Mongolia as all this occurs, showing it on Russian TV.

This offensive is remarkable for its success. I hope to learn in the future that there is a plan to use this success strategically in some way, particularly with regards to the Russian forces still occupying the eastern quarter of Ukraine.
The massive drone strike on Moscow, that was to show Russia as weak—failed. Now new forces are coming in without the need to pull back from Donbass offensive. The Ukraine attack will be gone by October First. Reminds me of General Hood’s attack on Nashville in the Civil War, that was to turn Sherman’s March to the Sea back. That resulted in the death of the Army of the Tennessee.

“The People of Moscow are being sent a message that they are not untouched by the war next door.”
Ukraine’s drone strike on Moscow and the Kursk incursion will signal to Russian’s that they will not be “untouched” by Putin’s war, says Catherine Philip, world affairs editor, The Times.
I only hope the bloody thing ends already. Putin in power, deposed, alive, dead, a peace agreement or unconditional surrender. Whatever. The cost in lives and treasure has not been worth it.

Maybe this will facilitate invasion closure:

“Russian president Vladimir Putin has not received a word of support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in the Kursk region from any of the countries the Kremlin considers “friendly”, with the exception of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, which Russia helped to keep in power. Even the unrecognized President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, is trying to maneuver, limiting himself to statements that he is “for peace,” writes The Moscow Times. The Belarusian leader noted that he would not use nuclear weapons until the border of the Union State was crossed. However, the border has already been crossed, since the Russian Federation, including the Kursk region, is part of this union. Belarus has not directly taken part in the conflict between Moscow and Kiev, having called for negotiations instead. However, at the start of Moscow’s military campaign in February 2022, it allowed the Russian military to use its territory to launch an offensive on Kiev. Relations between Belarus and Ukraine have been strained ever since.
Other countries that are part of the pro-Russian military alliance CSTO have not commented at all on the events taking place in the Kursk region: Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have not made any statements on this matter. China, with which Kremlin officials constantly talk about a “strategic partnership,” responded to the military actions near Kursk only on August 12, that is, a week after the start of the Ukrainian offensive, and limited itself to a statement about “monitoring the current situation.” In response to a media request to comment on the situation in the Kursk region, the Chinese Foreign Ministry called on all parties to “adhere to the principles of cooling the situation.”
Recall, the CSTO Secretariat stated that the Russian Federation did not make a request for assistance in connection with the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in the Kursk region. They noted that they intend to “monitor the development of the situation.”
Whose “treasure” has not been worth it?
Putin’s certainly has been wasted, but the US military expenditures have most certainly been worth it.
Only to the extent that it stopped Putin from taking over Ukraine. But there is very little in Ukraine right now worth taking over. Rich farm land destroyed. Children kidnapped and indoctrinated to hate their heritage. Factories and cities in ruins. That means more treasure from somewhere rebuilding it as it was before the war. Guess whose. Had Putin just left it alone, he might have economically dominated a rich country without anyone noticing or caring. But instead he destroyed both Russia and Ukraine. Then there’s also all the dead people.
But the US military did learn all sorts of uses for drones, and one of the most anti-Semitic cultures in the world outside the Middle East now has a Jewish national hero. His statue will be right next to Chmelnicki’s and Banderas’ in Kiev. Well, that’s something anyway.
The red line was crossed. Now Russia is going to nuke Russia. That will show them, globo nazi homos.
That was the obvious thing to do but Biden and the EUnuchs had been not “allowing” it as that could lead to “escalation”.
That whole friggin area is about 5 square miles.
You’re one of those demented clowns who believe history began on a day of your choosing, aren’t ya?
Naturally. They’re doing the same thing with the same BS in Gaza. They wanted that war to drag on forever, too, in the name of saving “innocent civilians,” as if a long, drawn out conflict under restrictive ROE is not going to harm civilians, innocent or otherwise. If they’re so concerned about saving lives, how about building bomb shelters for those civilians. The UN is there providing food for Hamas to steal, so why not build a bomb shelter, at least.
Same thing with Ukraine. Russia had a safe zone to, with impunity, fire from, stockpile supplies in, and retreat to, over the border. That’s no longer the case, and good.
