This whole electric vehicle BS lacks common sense.
Ten days ago Oil Patch City commissioners voted to support the issuance of Industrial Revenue Bonds for a mega-Battery Energy Storage just northeast of the city. If it actually comes to fruition an accident there would be ten to hundreds of times worse than this one, especially if the wind is from that direction. The commissioners were tied 3-3 and the mayor broke the tie to allow the motion to pass.
I sill don't see why then need to close the road both directions. Even in this direction it is off the road. CalTrans is always to ready to close the highways.
