The modern Republican Party, by contrast, is built upon a loathing of the government. Some of its members want to see the government shrunk and hamstrung. And the problem is?

The Democrats turning into a pitiless machine is why we nominated him in 2016.

One problem is that blowhards like Ezra believe his opinions are newsworthy.

It’s still the cult of Obama, why does Ezra Klein think he can slip that fact past his readers? oh , yeah, they know they can depend on the stupidity of their voters.

Hell, for a party that supports abortion up to (and after sometimes)the moment of birth I believe that party was there years ago,

How have the two parties come to be such perfect opposites, photo negatives of each other? One reason predates Trump. The other reason is Trump. This is ridiculous. Trump is basically 90s-era Bill Clinton with the occasional mean tweet.

Today’s Republican Party is what political scientists call a “personalist” party... I guess NYT never heard of Obama...

Sure, Ezra. We haven’t forgotten your Journo-List or your Cabal-List. All those little mocking birds are still squawking the same tune, aren’t they?

Yep, limited government, the underlying premise of the Constitution of the United States, that made this nation the greatest in history - a concept reviled by the nimrods who shuffle about the halls, and bounce off the walls, of the New York Slimes building.

There is a contradiction at the heart of the Republican Party that does not exist at the heart of the Democratic Party. Democrats are united in their belief that the government can, and should, act on behalf of the public. The Democrats are running Big Brother a campaign of disrespect for the voters.
They nullified their primary and now, by refusing interviews and press conferences, are telling their voters that they don't deserve any explanations of any kind for anything.
I want to see some states sue the DNC to recover the costs to the state for their primaries that they nullified because they didn't like the winner.

This tired old lie again, Ezra? Both parties are carbon copies of each other.
Funny how leftism squeezes the creativity and common sense out of a human being.

Matt Walsh called what is taking place in the media a fire hose of lies. Lies coming so fast and so many you can’t defend against them. We can see through them but the average voter may not. He also said he was fearful the practice may work. I do feel Trump should focus more on the policies and history of his opponents. However, the leftist media dominates. Americans seem to want to vote themselves into slavery.
