How do they know the cause and effect? IOW< that the vision loss contributes to dementia?
Perhaps the vision loss is more a result of very early onset dementia, more like an early warning sign?
Besides, who after the age of 65 isn’t experiencing some deterioration in both? NOTHING works like it used to.

I’ve had about a dozen operations over the years on my right ear and avoided getting a hearing aid because they weren’t covered by insurance. The nerve is still good so my ENT recommended an Osia device specifically because of my age and hearing loss could be a factor in dementia. The Osia was covered by insurance. I helps as I have a bluetooth microphone that hangs off the TV so its not blasting my wife and it does improve hearing but it will never be the same.
