The profit margin for supermarkets is only 1.6%. Kamala Harris said that's "excessive," and she wants to impose price controls on food. Either she wants to cause food shortages, or she's too dumb to understand Economics 101. Which is it?

Remember Bernie Sanders saying about grocery stores that “Americans have too many choices.” That comes to mind. That and bread lines.

During the depression and the government created works projects that helped pull it out only worked because of two things. People WANTED jobs, actual jobs and a lot of jobs were created by massive government works projects like the WPA - Works Progress Administration and the CCC - Civilian Conservation Corps. AND THE SECOND WORLD WAR.

There are still remnants of the old WPA and CCC stuff that was done (I think there’s a building at my old alma mater, North Avenue Trade School) and I’ve seen some of the parks work in a lot a places in Alabama. But today, stuff like isn’t possible that because people don’t want to work - they want the money and to lie around on their ass. The only long-lasting remnants that will still be here are the empty forties and cigarette packs and torn up scratch offs.

But, there’s still a war, right? That’d do it. We already HAVE that war. It’s from our South and they’re invading, killing, robbing, raping and breaking our coffers trying to sustain them.....you can’t create jobs and recover an economy with that. Que-Mala knows this but isn’t going to utter a word about it.

Please don’t fall into the leftist trap of selective mathematics.

There are 62000 grocery stores in the US. That math works out to only $256,000 profit per year each.

From that profit they may need to hire more employees. $250k doesn’t go all that far even at minimum wage.

Oops, the freezer section needs to be replaced. An 8 door freezer is $25000, and you need four of them. Oh, and
when the freezer broke, we lost $15,000 worth of frozen pizza.

Lenny drove the forklift into the garage door. There goes another $6000.

Why are you yelling at me? Shoplifting differs from area to area. Very little occurs at grocers around where I live. I don’t know, but I assume businesses have insurance to cover losses. Naturally, the price of insurance would be higher in areas where there is a lot of theft. I understand that in high crime areas, stores are actually going out of business due to theft. However, grocery stores are in the business to make money; they’re not in business out of the kindness of their hearts. They would go out of business if they weren’t making money. What I contend is that many grocers, at least around here, is are price gouging, which should not be. There are many who contend that grocers have a free enterprise right to charge whatever they like, and consumers have the option to buy or not. So, I guess in that respect, we can either pay for price gouging or go hungry.

She’s a communist, her running mate’s a communist (and a pervert) and the platform of her Democrat/Communist Party is very much like the platform of the American Communist Party ... there are no substantive differences in the party platforms.

There are laws for everything, not like it is orig.

https://www.findlaw.com/consumer/consumer-transactions/price-gouging-laws-by-state.html

So............................... lets work with the laws we already have, don’t need more.

It is both. She is for population reduction as spoken in a video from, I think, 2020.Starvation is a pretty effective method toward that end.
