The new and more dangerous strain of the mpox virus has been detected in Sweden, health authorities announced Thursday, marking the first time the pathogen has been found outside continental Africa.
A person who sought clinical care in the Stockholm region was found to have mpox -- previously called monkeypox -- caused by the rapidly spreading variant known as Clade I, Sweden's Public Health Authority announced.
The World Health Organization this week classified the spread of mpox Clade I in the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighboring countries as an international emergency and a threat to human health.
It's the second time in two years mpox has been deemed a worldwide emergency by the WHO. Mpox infected nearly 100,000 people, killing roughly 200, during the 2022 global outbreak.
The Swedish patient was infected during a stay in a part of Africa where the spread of mpox Clade 1 is ongoing, has received treatment and was issued rules of conduct, according to state epidemiologist Magnus Gisslén.
Health officials say Clade I causes the same basic disease of mpox as the dominant strain of two years ago, Clade IIb, but has been linked to a higher risk of more severe effects and higher mortality.
The earlier outbreak was mainly spread via sexual contacts, but Clade I can be transmitted more easily through other contact routes, mainly by close contacts within households and often involving children.
Gisslén said the newfound case in and of itself will not trigger any stricter control measures within Sweden, "but we take the outbreak of mpox Clade I very seriously," he said. "We will follow it closely and continuously assess whether new measures are needed."
Also, I read last night that MPOX is only 0.04% fatal (COVID was 0.06% from that same reading).

BINGO!
Regards,
Actually, Sweden is beginning to deport many muslims and africans that have been on the dole for years. They have figured out they are non productive feral humans and contribute nothing but crime to society.
Clade I is not Clade II, Clade I are in the 10% mortality range not.1% it’s not.Ebola but it’s also not just the flubro. Clade I is also close contact spread not sexually. You can get it from a handshake or a hug or from handling cloths or linens used by someone with active sores. Person until full new skin is shedding virus by the billions from scabs, pus and fluids of those sores. Clade I is nothing like Clade II there is very significant differences.
Clade I no gays stuff needed to spread just close contact like family and kids which is where that outbreak is centered on schools ,kids and their immediate family.
Clade II sexually transmitted.
You can’t inhale monkeypox..it is a skin contact disease. And there are medications for it.
Right it’s spread by skin to skin contact or by touching a surface that someone with active sores has made contact with and left residue on. Bed sheets, towels, and cloths being the most common vectors in a home ,or caregivers setting. Clade 1b is more contagious and the person sheds more from their sores. That version is not sexually transmitted it is spreading in children and school settings in the Congo and a few other African nations. It also has made it to Sweden and Pakistan after being discovered as new in May of this year on the DRC. here again it’s not the gaypox version it’s spreading in children and they certainly are not doing gay stuff. Kids are just kids they touch everything and each other all the time it’s a environment conducive to a formite or contact spreading. There has been proven cases of face to face transmission without physical contact indicating some level of droplet transmission.
When in a health care setting....
“For patients who have suspected or confirmed mpox, add airborne precautions as there is a potential risk of airborne transmission”
It was thought that it was impossible for Ebola to be transmitted via the air ask Nurse Pham how that worked out for her. Droplets face to face is not the same as airborne but it’s still noncontact.
Clade 1B is not the same bug as the gaypox clade not even close. One is 10% mortality plus the other is 0.5% Africa needs to get Clade 1B under control post haste.
There’s no approved consumer level treatments you would have to get approval directly from the CDC and then get access to the strategic national stockpile of smallpox antivirals. Look at all the red tape one would need to get them. They will just let peeps die before getting into the SNS which is for the military first. Gaypox easy to avoid , new kidpox may not be the same. Just say the latest numbers 70% of the cases in the DRC are children under 18. Surely there not a majority of kids gone homo.
