A woman found dead on a trail in Northern California was killed in a domestic dog attack, and authorities say that a pack of 25 Great Danes were seen "running loose in the area" at the time.
An autopsy found numerous dog bites on Corbin, and a subsequent DNA test confirmed that she was the victim of a domestic dog attack. The sheriff's department said it believes Corbin was walking the trail when she was attacked. DNA analysis of Corbin's clothing is seeking to determine which dog, or dogs, bit her, and KCRA reports that none of the animals have yet been euthanized.
A neighbor on Blackhawk Trail told KCRA that the pack of Great Danes has been a problem for years. "They came across the road here at me," Max Hecker said. "So I jumped in the car and left." He said that he and other neighbors called Butte County Animal Control numerous times to complain about the dogs, including on the day before the deadly attack. "

Great Danes obviously aren’t exactly gentle giants.
I’ve encountered more than one that wanted nothing better than to bite the hell out of me.

Packs of loose/quasi-feral dogs in rural areas are often considered fair game.
It is the same as the post above it... no reason to delete it the mods have better things to do.
the pack of Great Danes has been a problem for years.
I guess it's actually Cujo x 25. Terrible way to go. I try not to imagine.
Believe it or not, once a pack of chihuahuas was a problem.
Yup, especially when they go after livestock, pets, people. Dog packs need to be eliminated because they've lost any sense of obedience at that point and it's sheer nonthinking attack behavior.
Seems odd.
I would expect a mix-breed feral pack rather than a large pack of great danes.
Any large breed pack of ~25 has to do a lot of killing of large prey in order to stay alive, or they were recently released by a breeder.
How do we know it was Danes and not Sweden or Norwegians? Seems like racial profiling.
The article suggests the “pack” of dogs, who have been a nuisance for years, HAS AN OWNER.
This is really a story of men not being men.
25 Great Danes? Each one probably weighs around 130 to150 pounds and keeping them would entail a huge expense on dog food and medical care. I have to wonder what he owner is doing.
However, speaking about Great Danes personally, I’ve had nothing but great experiences with them starting when I was about three years old and went met one on an evening walk with my father. Since then, until about three years ago when he died, I had an absolutely wonderful Great Dane who was the most decent, gentle, loving, goofy, and compassionate animal anyone could ever want to have and to live with. Indeed, he still lives within me and I treasure his memory more than I do the memory of any of the other six dogs I have had in my 81 years.
Exactly
Kristi Noem was not wrong.
Scooby and gang will try to pin it on a pack of Chihuahuas with rubber masks.
