I recently ran across Floorp, a Japanese entry into the browser field. It is mozilla-based.

https://floorp.app/en

I also like Vivaldi. It is chrome-based from a team who created the original Opera browser. I especially like its feature to show several web pages on the screen simultaneously. Windows and Linux versions.

It depends on what you want out of a browser. I typically have a ton of tabs open, so I use Arc. It keeps everything nice and organized for me and without hogging resources.

Chrome has all of the tracking (Google) crud.. Chromium is a bare-bones with nothing but the browser.

I use Brave unless there is some issue with a web-page (that I need to log into, like “ID.me”.
If there IS an issue, I use Chromium (not Chrome!).

I stopped using Palemoon ages ago (maybe around 2010).. It was a security issue since it was so out of date.
Stopped using Firefox when they fired the CEO for being conservative.

Firefox (since v0.8) and Vivaldi on my Windows PC and Linux. There is always a need for at least two when browsers sometimes bark about certain web pages. Safari on my iPhone and iPad.

I've tried Brave three times, and each time I got frustrated with its lack of customization, especially in comparison to Firefox.

Nothing personal, I just laugh every time I see posts like this. Everyone trying to gain some fictional level of privacy or something I guess. I use Safari on my Apple products and Chrome and Edge on my Windows products. They work, I have no unusual expectation Relief of privacy, I’m not doing anything illegal, or going anywhere that I would be embarrassed about, I’m happy. it is the same with search engines, they all end up doing the same thing and generally return the same results. I do not find any urgent. Need to search for something better. I know that anything I use is going to have some bias or filtering, I’ve just learned to ignore that and for what I want.

I like Brave for ad blocking. There are a couple of websites that I have to use Edge for in the store but at home it is Brave.

“I do use Firefox-esr as my primary browser.”

I do too... With custom advanced settings and NoScript.

For those who want to get to the custom advanced settings:

“To access the advanced settings, type: about:config into the address bar and press Enter.”

I use to love Dissenter by Gab, but it’s discontinued. Will try Brave as I believe it’s similar.

No, not at all. I’m just not into I guess the conspiracy theories and other hype that lead people to be trying to change their browsers and search engines. I’ve got over 40 years and IT, the first computers I worked on were RadioShack, the first work I did was with DR-DOS and after that X Windows/Motif. I’ve worked on and led project with all sorts of infrastructure, systems, software, and security changes over the years. Nowadays, browser are all using the same base code to some extent, search engines share the same search data. I want maximum compatibility and availability. I have experimented with various browsers, we’ve been tested them and work environments, SEO in different search engines, etc. I find that the mainstream products work and 99.9% of the time and I see no need to waste time and frustration trying other products that come and go about as quickly as you can install them sometimes. As I always ask, what problem are you trying to fix?

I do hate auto correct on my Apple products! And recently, the AutoCorrect on my windows is becoming even more atrocious.

Chromium (not Chrome) is a good browser more folks should check out. There are no Google APIs programmed into it and I really like it. That's why I have, and primarily use, that and Brave.

I used to use Palemoon as my primary browser years ago but when Chromium based browsers came into prominence, I made the switch. I keep it around only because there are a few things it does better but on the whole it's not a good browser any more.

Ditto on Firefox. I will never use it again.

I’ve been giving MS Edge a chance. So far, not bad. I do like the vertical tabs and tab groups feature.
