What the infrastructure for NATO to try to wage war against Russia would cost...
Scott Ritter is a loathsome creep.
I also recall the talk that Russia and or China received some of our POW pilots to interrogate there for training purposes and never returned them. I do believe we had pilots that had been documented as alive after capture who never came back or were ever accounted for. Was the subject of much heart-wrenching speculations afterwards, several books and movies as well.
To this day, the POW/MIA flags fly in my area of the country.
I’m pretty sure the Norks kept captured prisoners and shared them with Russia or China for favors.
The Russians had some of their top pilots flying in Korea including at least one female WWII ace. She was shot down and her body recovered. Very few Russians exposed because they had strict rules about never flying over enemey territory.
This was during the Stalin Era and breaking the rules under Stalin was a very unhealthy thing to do.
Vietnam was different. There were no doubt some Russian and Chinese pilots flying for Vietnam from time to time, but most all of the Northern pilots were Vietnamese.
The Cold War Era was full USSR instigated and supported proxy wars all over the globe.
The reason the proxy wars were fought was to advance the march of communism while avoiding a direct conflict between the US and Russia.
The United States was on the side of resisting global Soviet tyranny and oppression
The Ukraine is an example of a Western driven proxy war against Russia.
Wow. Why? Was he the guy with the UN back in 2005 or so? What else did he do?
He took his pay from Saddam in cash and a steady and seemingly unlimited stream of Saddam supplied underage school girls in Iraq.
If memory serves, he remained on Saddam's payroll and officially registered as an Iraqi foreign agent when he returned home to the US.
He later got into a spot of trouble when he continued pursuing his interests in sub 12 year old girls here in the states.
If I were Putin, I'd tell the guy to STFU when it comes to Russia.
.
So is the money laundering mash potatoe napping on the beach!
It has been years and you still don’t know that like many nations Ukraine accepts foreign volunteers into its military as legal Ukrainian soldiers?
Did I say they didn’t? Did I say these were US active troops? There you go again, you just can’t help but try to Schiff people all the time. Again, with you, it’s expected.
“Soviet crews manned the guns themselves and these crews did, in fact, shoot down US planes. One such Soviet battery reportedly downed six US planes.”
Thousands of Russian served in Vietnam
“Starting in 1964, North Vietnamese fighter pilots and anti-aircraft gunners were being trained in the Soviet Union, with Soviet advisors also being stationed in North Vietnam. Early on, when the North Vietnamese troops were still unfamiliar with the new Soviet anti-aircraft batteries, Soviet crews manned the guns themselves and these crews did, in fact, shoot down US planes. One such Soviet battery reportedly downed six US planes.”
“Soviet involvement was not confined to anti-aircraft crews. There were also widespread reports (though these were never confirmed) that Soviet snipers had embedded with NVA units and infiltrated South Vietnam to test their new SVD Dragunov sniper rifles. Witnesses described these snipers as white men with blue eyes.
Beyond South Vietnam proper, but still within the unofficial theater of the war, Soviet GRU Spetsnaz special forces took part in at least one, and likely more, ground combat operation. In 1968, a team of ten Spetsnaz attacked a covert US base on the Cambodian-Vietnamese border, destroying three of the then-new US Cobra attack helicopters and actually stealing another. This operation was confirmed only after the fall of the Soviet Union, and if there was one Soviet special forces mission, there were almost certainly more.”
“From 1968 on, the Soviet Union provided the vast majority of the military and economic aid that North Vietnam received. They supplied their communist allies with food, petroleum, transport vehicles, iron, steel, fertilizer, arms, and ammunition. Most critically, the Soviets supplied all of this as aid rather than loans (as the Chinese had done early in the war). This eased the economic strain on North Vietnam and further advanced their war effort.”

I saw video in the first few days of what apparently was a squad of Americans. The three guys heard in the video sounded like US midwesterners to me. Uniformed as Ukes.

Why then does history not record any hesitance on the part of the Soviets to fight proxy wars against the US and West back then, fear that they would be escalating the conflict and that the US or NATO would unleash thermonuclear war against THEM for doing it?
What I’m getting is that if they didn’t fear us nuking them back then, why then should we hamstring our proxy aid to the Ukes because of being afraid of Russia responding with nukes? I’d bet they wouldn’t. Ever.
The US should take the gloves off and help the UKEs pummel Putin’s troops badly. Now. If that is true that we are supporting the UKEs to win and that statement wasn’t a lie.
If we were motivated to, couldn’t we find competent pilots to fly those F-16s on combat missions over there and really F up Putin’s invasion? For the right reward/risk ratio of payment?
If the UKEs achieved air superiority over that Eastern front there, they could drop 2000 lb daisy cutter bombs from B-52s on Russian forces.
Have we really settled the score from the sh*t the Soviets did via their proxy wars against our friends?
Why not even it out now?
Ukraine doesn’t hire mercenaries, if any foreigners want to volunteer as part of the Ukraine military they can and some very well might.
As far as us going to war against Russia and sending B-52s to bomb them, why would we do that? Why would we want to?
There are no scores to settle, only our current interests and what benefits our safety and security, and in Europe and also how it relates to the threat against us in the Pacific that is going pretty good for us in the last 30 months.
I was not clear; my thought was that IF the Ukes could somehow achieve air superiority over the Donetsk Eastern Front with a combo of native and foreign pilots of F-16s, could we then give them bomber capability that cannot now be used without first them having control of the airspace over? I realize the Ukes ever getting air superiority over the Eastern Front is a stretch. BUT, if they did, they could then use bombers and A10 warthogs against Russian armor and troops etc.
