USA Gymnastics head coach Cecile Landi submitted the inquiry to change Jordan Chiles’ score 47 seconds after it was posted instead of 64, according to a statement from the organization Sunday.
A letter and video evidence was submitted to the Court of Arbitration for Sports, the statement said, and USA Gymnastics called for Chiles’ bronze medal in the Olympic women’s floor routine — which she had to return after the court ruled that the inquiry was allegedly submitted four seconds after the deadline of one minute — to be returned to the 23-year-old.
“The time-stamped, video evidence submitted by USA Gymnastics Sunday evening shows Landi first stated her request to file an inquiry at the inquiry table 47 seconds after the score is posted, followed by a second statement 55 seconds after the score was originally posted,” USA Gymnastics continued in its statement. “The video footage provided was not available to USA Gymnastics prior to the tribunal’s decision and thus USAG did not have the opportunity to previously submit it.”

SOMEBODY gonna get some ‘pology action!
She wasn’t as good anyway. And this degree of precision exceeds their degree of accuracy. They do different routines, and then a judge subjectively assigns a score.
Nobody has to debate who crosses a finish line first.
The scores were meant to achieve political goals.
If they are so imprecise, then how are you so sure she was worse?
The best way ‘out’ is to give both Jordan Chiles and Ana Barbosu the third place metals... is it the ‘best’ solution, maybe not. But sometimes the best is not possible, but it would appease all sides in this and put it to rest.
But do a huge overhaul of the appeal process for the future.
The amount of errors at this point is just sad, but the ones that suffer are these young women.
They let two pole vaulters share gold last time.
Chiles is chunky and her routine was clunky. the Romanians were feminine and graceful. This political Olympics had a goal of getting three black females on the medal stand. Simple as that.
I do not care. Olympics. Shiympics.
I used scrutiny on her. Chiles is clunky and screwed up a couple of landings. The Romanian was smooth, feminine and did better.
I’m sure it was racism or something
No. That’s the best way to cement DEI into the Olympics. The whole thing is a joke. The best thing to happen to gymnastics was having Chiles get it taken away from her after she stole it. She didn’t care at all until it got flipped. The whole all black podium and the bowing and “she is queen” nonsense was repulsive. I’d rather that never happened again.
I trust nothing to do with olympics after they decided all you needed was a female passport to compete in women’s sports. Even the US now allows you To put whatever you want on a passport ..but don’t wear glasses for the pic .
That’s why I’ve never like gynmastics, diving or any “sport” that can’t be objectively measured.
USA Gymnastics has evidence Jordan Chiles inquiry was made on time amid Olympics medal controversy

And the whole world has evidence that she didn’t earn it even without the deduction and that the Romanian girl was ripped off. They penalized her stepping out of bounds whuich she didn’t so she would have won the Bronze.

The tenth of a point was due to a miscalculation on the difficulty of which she completed all her movements.
I was of the Nadia Comaneci era and took up gymnastics to the point of being a coompetitive gymnast at the state level. I was always athletic but this was the perfect sport for me and I loved watching the Russians, Germans and Romanians compete.
That being said, the OC is crap now. I have watched NONE of it with their green, condom pushing DEI garbage.
