Ukraine has reportedly captured hundreds of Russian soldiers in a further major blow to Vladimir Putin's army.
-snip-
New video images posted by Ukraine's army appear to show Russian prisoners of war captured during the incursion.
The prisoners include troops from Russia’s 225th Assault Brigade, as well as FSB border guards.
One captured Russian identified himself as 22-year-old Danil Kolesnikov from the Belgorod region.
In a video clip of his interrogation, the soldier said he served in the 488th regiment on the border in the Kursk-Sudzha area.
He was captured early on after Ukrainian troops crossed into Russia on Tuesday.
The soldier told his captors that the regiment's commanders had abandoned them and that "they will die, they will die".
Another video shows around 40 Russians being loaded onto trucks, after which they were taken to Ukraine.
Some reports claim that as many as 300 Russian servicemen had been detained by Ukraine's army.

I’m calling Nazi propaganda. Russians have already overrun Warsaw and are well on their way to Berlin.
poor pooty
Would it be possible for the UKES to “turn” these Russian troops to the Uke cause and get them to fight on the side of Ukraine?
*ouch*
Most of these prisoners are 20 something year old conscripts from Moscow, St Petersburg and Belgorod, not the typical Muslim cannon fodder used by Russia. The Moscow moms are already asking why they haven’t heard from their sons in 3 days.
Lgov-Belgorod Rail line in Kursk is now under Ukrainian control.
Possible, unlikely.
More likely when they are repatriated they'll be shipped to Siberia.

Thank you.
I wonder if the UKES convey that depressing future fate in Siberian Gulags to them, they might rather take their chances staying in Ukraine and making new lives there?
I don’t think the Ukes are interested in “turning” Russians. They just want the Russians to go home. Germany had SS foreign divisions with national identification, including French (last to surrender in Berlin, by the way), Dutch, Norwegian, Russian, and Indian nationalist, (the Hindu Tigers), fighting the Soviet Union.
None of that here.
Looks like Ukraine has momentum now:

Despite the attempts of the Russian forces to stop the advance of the Ukrainian mobile groups, the scale of the crisis is growing: unfortunately, the tactics of the Ukrainian forces with emphasis on speedy breakthroughs, bypassing fortified areas and maximum expansion of the breakthrough zone without consolidation at the first stage surpass the Russian army’s counterattack capabilities by their artlessness.
🔻 In Sudzha district the zone of conditional control of Ukrainian formations expanded to 30 km along the road Diakonovo — Sudzha.
▪️ Points of resistance of the Russian army are cut off and bypassed along the rockade roads. After occupying Kazachya Loknya in the north, and Mirny and Bondarevka in the south, Ukrainian froces entered Martynovka and tied up the troops there by fighting. After that, the village of Kruglik was taken.
At the same time, an AFU mobile group moved further along the highway, reaching Bolshoye Soldatskoye and engaging in combat in the village. There are reports that battles with enemy DRGs are taking place further along the highway.
▪️ There is fierce fighting in the surrounding settlements 15 kilometers south of Lgov.
▪️ In conditions of active engagement of the enemy’s electronic warfare at some areas there is still a “fog of war”, so it is premature to speak about the complete defeat of strongholds, which the enemy has passed or bypassed.
🔻 In Korenevsky district the AFU do not leave attempts to occupy the administrative center.
Simultaneous battles were fought at the entrance to Korenevo, as well as attempts to occupy Olgovka with Kremeny. For a part of the Ukrainian troops advancing in this area, it is necessary both to restrain the forces of the RF Armed Forces by fighting and to break through to the Rylsk - Lgov highway in order to expand the scale of the operational crisis of the Russian Armed Forces and stretch the forces of the Russian troops.
📌 At the same time, Ukrainian forces have already started entrenching on the achieved borders, introducing the second echelon. The capture of Suja has become an encouraging factor for the AFU, with which they are now trying to break their losses and demonstrate that the game is worth the candle.
The biggest problem in organizing the defense in the Kursk tactical direction is still the dispersion of units and the lack of the proper number of forces, which are now allegedly being withdrawn from other directions. At the same time, Russian information resources, which are racing to write the names of brigades and divisions that are about to arrive (but still do not arrive), are adding chaos to the information space.
Name, rank, serial number, ... and pronouns.
At what point does Putin order tactical nukes to be used to repel further incursions?
The world is playing with fire.
There are several International Brigades fighting in UKR. Including several made up of Russian-speaking Ukrainians and some Russians.
