Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that a Ukrainian incursion into Russia's Kursk region was a major provocation.
"The Kyiv regime has launched another major provocation," Putin told members of the Russian government about the Kursk attack.

If you're a fan of checkers.
You still haven't addressed the stupidity of the Ukrainian cannon fodder who were dumb enough to go along as part of this incursion...
The magnitude of change that will be brought to this matter by a Trump victory has not been adequately addressed.
When there is no re-election issue that might moderate an attitude, you have what he wants and only what he wants. The only other moderation he could face is exactly what was so in 2017 — concern about impeachment and GOPe not all that excited about preventing it.
But as he has now learned, the bar on that is very high. One would suspect that moderating influence is erased.
It will be strictly and only what he wants. No John Bolton input. No allegiance to anything.
I would say he will be 100% focused on peace and will not care who has a white hat or a black hat.
Kursk Nuclear Power Plant guards fleeing already! Lol!
Ukrainian flag raised in Sudzha.
Why do you support bidens deep state war?
Lots of Ukrainian flags...
All demonrats do. bert does his part.
Your not alone in asking that question.
Putin, what are you complaining about if you went beyond a mere provocation?
As I recall there was a huge tank battle at Kursk during WWII.
Wikipedia has a good summary. The Ukrainian incursion is into the Kursk Oblast, not the city of Kursk. Like the difference between Oklahoma City and Oklahoma, an Oblast is like a state in Russia. Whether or not this region has any strategic importance, attacking Russian soil is a black eye for Putin. He intended to overrun Ukraine in three weeks. Like two weeks to flatten the covid curve, it is dragging on for well over 15 months.
It is interesting that Ukraine could muster an attack without the Russians anticipating it. The Russians have surveillance satellites and they should have any number of spies on the ground. This is a massive intelligence failure for the Russians. The Ukrainians, I am sure, are getting excellent intelligence from the U.S. and NATO. A Russian battalion cannot have morning formation without being watched by NATO. When I was in the Army in Germany, we were told by Army security that the Russians had a platoon whose full time job was monitoring our battalion’s radio transmissions.
You mean the “butcher” who runs a nation with a flat 13% income tax?
—
And the childless tax and the failure to serve tax, among others?
Funny thing is that there no other Russian defense lines or fortifications past Sudzha.
—
Moscow has the ones they put up to stop Prigozhin. But other than that ... just conscripts and some National Guard troops.
The Russians have surveillance satellites
—
Being Russia, those surveillance satellites are surveilling each other, just in case.
Good point.
