Broad Beach

Claire Weglarz of Hollywood put it simply: “Broad Beach is just a pretty beach with less people.” This Malibu spot doesn’t have amenities such as restrooms or a parking lot. Also, at high tide, there’s little to no sand to walk on. You enter through a staircase that’s between homes; this is one of those Malibu beaches that looks private but isn’t.

I'm not a beach person, but have a friend from Huntington Beach(the last conservative bastion in California) and he told me, Malibu is stars, Newport Beach nouveau riche, Laguna Beach gay.

Flame away.

“the last conservative bastion in California”. Several years ago, the city of Orange was one of the most conservative cities. But it seems the entire county still passes muster.

I like Manhattan Beach. The beach is nice and the community is also nice.

I don’t know the first thing about California beaches except that they aren’t Florida beaches. Where’s that sugar white sand?

We just stayed in Seal Beach on our way back from Japan. Family friendly, navy presence, peaceful, and I love the place. It’s very small too.

The water temperature in both San Diego and Tijuana in the summertime is colder than Long Island!

I’ll take the East Coast. No earthquakes. Nowhere near a desert. And as long as you’re not in upper New England, you can go swimming in the summertime.

And if you’re further south, depending on where you are, you can swim during portions of spring and fall as well.

South Florida is the only place where you can swim all year round. But watch out for those man o’ wars and jellyfish!

With ‘ya. The beach is the most over-hyped, overrated place on the planet. Other than maybe surfing and (some) scantily-clad women, don’t get the fascination.

Personally, I blame Jimmy Buffett, lol. Used to like him when he was somewhat country; once he became the middle-aged, yuppie parrot-tard hero, meh...

Personally, my favorite Florida beaches are on the Gulf side, especially the Panhandle in the quieter spots. Hidden gems. When I say sugar white sand, I mean it.

In Newport Harbor, especially on Lido Island, you’ll see a lot of Trump flags.
