The debate wasn’t between Trump and “Whoever Shows Up”.
It was between Trump and Biden.
There’s nothing to back out of.
Lying NYT lying again. There was never a debate scheduled with Harris. Harris is just afraid to debate Trump on any forum where she doesn’t have support of the moderators. What an incompetent -itch she is, and what a useless rag the NYT is.

Though both campaigns agreed to the format of the first debate, Mr. Trump had bemoaned the lack of a crowd.

Trump agreed to debate Biden on ABC, NOT Harris. All he has to say is, “Kamala, I agreed to debate Biden on September 10th, and I will still do so. You, though, are not Biden. Fox has offered us a debate on September 4th. Join me there.”

Sadly, you are correct - no debates should have occurred until after nominating conventions...it is no wonder they advised Biden to agree to a debate so early in the election cycle. It wasn’t exactly unknown the Democrats were looking to offload Biden and that gave them exactly what they needed to do so - and it was our side that gave that to them.
Yep it was painfully obvious why the rats wanted the June debate. I remember screaming at the radio when heard Trump agreed to it
She has given ZERO interviews. She has not accepted debate on Fox News. She will be a ghost candidate similar to Brandon in 2020. She will run the entire campaign on TelePrompTer
