In my town, “yutes” were knocking over mail boxes at the PO and stealing the mail. Instead of arresting anyone, they took out the boxes. Older people go to the PO for everything. I see them hobbling out of their cars to go inside now.

What about oldsters who can't drive?

And those oldsters who can drive (and own cars): Are they now being mugged in the parking lot?

Convenience stores across the country should be shut down because they encourage shoplifting, shootings, and beer and Dorito consumption. And don't forget, they sell rolling papers and Oreo cookies and that makes them responsible for weed smoking by otherwise innocent people.

You're on the right track, Rooster. My guess is that the gas station parking lot is where drug dealers and/or pimps ply their trades. And rival factions are engaged in a low grade shooting war, over this particular high-traffic, high-revenue "turf."

I spent the first 15 years of my career in a big city Public Defender's office. I know all the warning signs & symptoms. That's what it looks like to me.
