Orcas relentlessly battered a yacht in a “terrifying” two-hour attack that didn’t end until the $128,680 vessel sunk to the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea.
...
they were not playing at all, they knew exactly what they were doing. They knew the weak points of the boat, and they knew how to sink it...
“Their sole intention was to sink the boat

The pod of five first focused on the rudder, rendering the sailboat unable to steer after about 15 hits.

Though they were just two miles off the coast of Spain — and the crew radioed for help as soon as the attack began — it took two hours before help arrived.
A Spanish salvage vessel fortunately helped them abandon the stricken ship, minutes before it sunk 130 feet below the Mediterranean’s surface.

he tried everything from dropping firecrackers in the water and turning off the engine to deter the attack, but the pod was determined.

OK, I’ll say it: He’s gonna need a bigger boat.
Ya think?

🤣 $128K isn’t much of a yacht. Couple bites for an orca!
Happy to hear this. Probably some Trump-hating yachtsman.
Could be the same pod:
“They’re simply teens goofing around.
“The sea is a very boring place for an animal,” researcher Renaud de Stephanis, president of Spain’s Conservación, Información y Estudio sobre Cetáceos, told USA Today.”

And since the young regional marine mammals “have time on their hands,” they’ve turned the act of jutting rudder pieces loose into an aquatic sport, said expert Alexandre Zerbini.
“We think the orcas are getting something out of it, they are enjoying what’s happening. They’re playing,” he said.

$128K isn’t much of a yacht...
For $128K, you might be able to get the lifeboat on an actual yacht.
And bigger firecrackers. More like depth charges.
Orcas flip ice floes to get walrus and seal meals.
Boat flipping will get some boney creatures that can’t swim well.
Or we could give them an ipod with video games.
Something to be observed and watched. We are not “ there” yet, maybe just a primer?
“They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. (Rev. 6:7-8)”
The number is wrong when you look at the boat you will see

“$128K isn’t much of a yacht. Couple bites for an orca!”
Wife and I saw a guy towing a boat when we were coming north on I-75 above Macon GA. Boat had a center console, maybe 20-22 feet, decent size, but not huge by any means. It was sporting 3 Mercury 400 engines. Those engines seem to list for around $35K each, that medium sized boat had about a $100K worth of engines. So you’re right, $128K doesn’t seem real expensive with the price of things these days (not that I could afford $128K for a boat).
Sounds like a cheap yacht. Maybe just a BOAT?
