Jill Biden supported Team USA's athletes on the first official day of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris Saturday.
The First Lady, just days after her husband Joe Biden passed the torch to Kamala Harris, cheered on the US men's gymnastics team as they kicked off the Olympics in front of a star-studded crowd.
Biden was joined by Olympic gold medalists Dawn Staley and Bart Conner, Denise Campbell Bauer, the U.S. Ambassador to France, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass at Bercy Arena.
However, the American gymnasts had no idea they were being watched by Biden until after they had finished competing.
'I walked up and they're like, 'Oh, Jill Biden's here.' What?? That's kind of awesome,' Brody Malone said, via USA Today.
'I wish I'd showed her a cooler floor routine,' Frederick Richard joked.
But Biden seemed impressed enough by his routine as she was seen getting into the spirit of the occasion, clapping throughout it.
The Americans also got to meet Biden, who expressed her and the country's pride for them.
'I'm just a gymnast from Deerfield, Illinois,' Paul Juda said. 'She said everybody from home supports us, (including) the President — that's just insane.'
Later in the day, she headed over to the Grand Palais where the fencing will be fought out for gold in the heart of the French capital.
It's not the first time the First Lady has attended the Olympics. She also showed her support for her fellow Americans during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 as one of the few people allowed in the stands due to the strict Covid-19 restrictions.

I watched some of the opening ceremonies I recorded last night (against the warnings of every Freeper). I nearly wore out the fast forward button. Bad singing, ridiculous performances and WTF were the Minions doing? Was that world wide or just movie advertising injected into the NBC feed. The teams arriving on boats was an interesting idea, but NBC skipped half the countries to show the circus sideshows along with Peyton Manning and Snoop Dogg.
Then to top it off, the French military hung the Olympic flag upside down. Did they do it on purpose to show distress? Or are they just used to flying the French flag upside down half the time?

Usually, it’s no Brainer for the President or the First Lady to represent the American People at the Olympics. But they made it political. Kerr and Curry just announced their support for Kamala Harris. That was while they’re representing the men’s national basketball team. If they wanted to do it the right way, they have the freedom to endorse Kamala Harris when they’re at home in California “off the clock”.
