Demonic, and symbolic of the “burning” that’s a comin for these cretins that glorify bloodshed, violence and evil. Hell awaits them all.
I have been a rock and music fan my whole life.
I’ve also been a Christian my whole life.
I do not deny that there are dark elements in music. And literature. And movies. And many art forms. And chemicals in the food supply. And the DNC.
There is an old saying, that when a Church is built the devil pitches a tent across the street. A saint once wrote that if demons weren’t transparent the sky would be blackened.
But one must guard against being scrupulous. Not every performance with blood etc is Beelzebub. These elements you cite in the Gojira performance hold for Wagner and AC/DC and Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden and a few horror punk bands like The Undead more, which (as far as I can tell) aren’t demonic. Especially Alice and Bobby Steele who are both religious guys. Really.
I would contrast this with the Commonwealth Games’ opener. Or any School Board meeting where parents are made out to be war criminals. Or the DNC. It’s night and day.
We have gone from the devil hiding in the shadows to him walking openly. He is the Prince of Lies, and his intent is to distort reality. Accordingly, we must crank up our discernment skills to avoid condemning everything.
Dr.Deth nailed it: I’m not aware of the band being overtly satanic or anything; they are overtly French. And while they may not be your cup of tea, I’ll take them over Beyoncé.
