It is believed that D-Mannose is the key part of cranberry juice that helps make the urinary tract too slippery for bacteria to stay in your body.

First thing I thought of was women and sex. Why’s that?

Vitamin C works well too.
First indications, drink quarts of water and take a lot of vitamin C. Cheaper by far and more convenient to store.

UTIs in women can be insidious. My mother was hospitalized twice in the last year because of cognitive and behavioral issues. It wasn’t until a urine culture was done that a raging UTI was discovered. She was on intravenous antibiotics for a week until it cleared up.
Now my dad has a package of home tests ready to go. And he’s added those Azo cranberry pills to her daily vitamin regimen.

My dad had sepsis and UTI when he died. The UTI messed with his cognitive ability. UTI’s can go undetected. Especially in the elderly, they don’t feel pain as well as younger people do. They try to appear as normal as possible to fool those around them. Sounds like biden.

Yes,I remember hearing this over 50 years ago.
Maybe this is being reported now , because they’ve conducted studies , and they’re reporting the results of the official studies?
Anyway, the anecdotal evidence about this has been known for a long long time.

I take 2 pills when I get up in the morning, and 1 pill before bed. 500mg.

So true. When Mom began to talk crazy and paranoid, we learned to check for UTI first thing. She didn’t feel it the same way she did when younger.

I am so very lucky to never had had UTI, but have advised friends to use D Mannose. One thought I was a loony, cause her doc never told her....she was ALWAYS having UTIs...guess she was a good revenue stream.

The women I know that have a history of getting UTIs regularly only do so if they stop drinking cranberry juice for a week or so. It’s a pretty direct and obvious relationship.
