People who depend on large language models for information are doomed to look stupid in public.

That really is amazing. And, it probably took about 3 seconds to come up with it?

All the AI is doing is doing is scouring records by keywords in a search engine, processing the results for cross-links, and then echoing back what others have said along with its' own conclusion. That's not very impressive, given the ability of AI to misunderstand things, and its habit of ignoring inferences and deeper connections. A human scholar, if they aren't lazy, should always be able to provide a better answer.

In short, all I see AI doing is searching web records, misunderstanding some of it, and then regurgitating what it found. As a result I get hilariously inaccurate answers when I try to ask for simple factual responses on things like generating a historically accurate image of a "Viking woman." (No, they did not wear chainmail, bear tridents and swords, and have flying wolves with duck feet coming in for a landing near them. But my arguments with AI on these points have never gotten me anywhere.)

I could have answered the question as to the Korean script/alphabet, including its unique origin/inventiom in Korea without any relation to other scripts. I could not answer questions about the script created for Kublai Khan except the fact that it was a Tibetan monk that did the actual work creating that script.
