I had always thought I was 1/32 Cherokee..
But, yesterday, I traced the bloodline and found out I am actually 1/8..
Does it mean anything (if I consider myself American)?
I am American, and.. to me, that is the most important...
Even if I am more peach/pinkish than “white”... (in my military days, I got a lot of sun, and was very bronze)..
I also found out that “Black Dutch” is another name for a mix of European and Cherokee (in a negative connotation).
Do you have the urge to throw a tomahawk or ride a horse bareback?
My mother had a genetic summatio done via ancestry .com.
She found that 1/10 of her genetic material was Ashkenazi Jewish. I have a great grandparent who was a Jew.
Funny thing, I have always been friendly, respectful and humble around orthodox Jewish people.
My mother is now gone, but I feel deeply the antisemitism now in America.
Makes me want to fight.
